Celebrity Big Brother is to be moved to 8pm as Channel 4 attempt to launch a brand new series.

Just four days after launching at 8pm, Channel 4 are planning to move the show again, this time to launch a series hosted by Jamie Theakston.

Schedules for Sunday 7th January show that Celebrity Big Brother will air an hour earlier than usual, preceding the premiere of Channel 4’s brand new challenge series ‘The Search’ at 9pm.

‘The Seach’ is a new weekly seven-part global treasure hunt entertainment series which follows ten bright contestants as they battle against each other to crack fiendish codes and unravel ancient mysteries around the world battling to win £50,000 in buried treasure.

Channel 4 bosses will hope the new series inherits a large audience from the earlier than usual highlights show. But luckily for fans it seems the change is just temporary, with CBB back in its normal 9pm home on Monday 8th January.

I suppose it doesn't make too much of a difference.

Think it might have something to do with getting a younger audience and keeping them after they start watching the show at 8pm when it moves back to 9pm. Get the younger viewers hooked and they will pester their parents into letting them watch the later show.

Call me a cynic but I'm sure channel 4 have an alliterative motive for moving the time. I don't trust TV companies that get their money though advertising.

I hate it when they muck around with the airing times cos it often means I miss the show because I'm so used to it being at 9pm all the time.

I agree, it's going to make it harder for me to watch. My kids go to bed at 8.30. I will have to remember to record it.
