There is little more irritating for celebrities than being wrongly associated with a downmarket TV show, especially if you're David Hasselhoff. So, as a sympathetic gesture towards the blouson-wearing Baywatch star, Spy has decided to clarify a matter that is threatening to damage his reputation.
"David is not doing Celebrity Big Brother," his exasperated agent, Judy Katz, tells me, "which I understand has been in many columns across Britain. I have called their office on two different occasions asking them to stop saying things that are untrue, but no one cares or seems to listen – so, if you want to print that, please feel free, as we never said he would and he has no plans to do it."
