With every new series of Gogglebox comes a new family. The last brought us the cheeky single lads from Reading and the dog-loving Malones in Manchester, and no doubt this series will give us a glimpse into yet another living room. But any families being introduced to the show are never revealed in advance, just in case they’re not entertaining enough to actually make it to our screens. After all, the cheeky charm of Scarlett Moffatt, the creepy silence of the Woerenwebers’ Jay and the exhibitionist tendencies of Rev Kate’s dog couldn’t ever have been predicted. That is what makes the show worthy of the NTA award it won for most popular factual entertainment programme.
