1.30
All of the winners of this relatively-new contest had been good enough over hurdles to have run at the previous festival but, significantly, none had shown anything like the form VATOUR displayed in the Supreme Novices Hurdle a year ago. He has been exciting since switching to fences and may prove hard to beat. Ptit Zig and Valseur Lido could offer most opposition.
2.05
EDEYMI has shown plenty of promise on his two runs this season and looks to be on a winning mark Sybarite, Regal Encore and Dawalan are just three of the many dangers in a wide-open race.
2.40
The decision to switch HIDDEN CYCLONE from yesterday’s Champion Chase can pay dividends. He ran a fine race when chasing home Dynaste a year ago and and a comfortable success at Punchestown last month suggests he is at least as good this time around. Don Cossack has progressed steadily this term and the fact that he stays further is a plus factor. Ma Filleule is hard to win with but has the ability to make the frame. John’s Spirit loves this track.
3.20
A tough puzzle to solve and recent results indicate that proven stamina is no longer a prerequisite. LIEUTENANT COLONEL has been raced over shorter trips until winning a slowly-run race over this trip at Punchestown and he should be capable of improvement. Zarkandar has stepped up on previous form since being setting a stiffer test of stamina and must enter calculations. Whisper runs well here and is another to consider.
4.00
The Nicholls team struck form yesterday and CAID DU BERLAIS may add to their tally. He looks to have been trained for this prize. Buywise is on the upgrade and suited by both track and trip. Monetaire definitely looks capable of better.
4.40
Sam Waley-Cohen has enjoyed plenty of success at the major jumping festivals and his wealth of experience offers GRANDADS HORSE an advantage. Charlie Longsden’s tough stayer also has form in the book that suggests he can prevail. Clondaw Knight retains his form well and should be in the shake-up. Grand Vision may not have won for a while but keeps threatening to strike top form.

On the 1st day, I ended up well in front, thanks to an each way patent( 3 selections in 7 bets) where I had no winner but all 3 long shots placed.
They were;
God's Own @ 40/1 (1/4 odds a place)
Sizing John @ 25/1 (1/4 odds a place)
Polly Peachum @ 9/1 (1/4 odds a place)
Yesterday I did not bet.
My fancies today are:
1:30 JLT Novices´ Chase (Registered As The Golden Miller Novices´ Chase) Grade 1 Cl1 2m4f
1. Apache Stronghold -- 11/2 Each way.
2:05 Pertemps Network Final (A Handicap Hurdle) (Listed Race) Cl1 3m
15. Call The Cops – 10/1 Each Way.
2:40 Ryanair Chase (Registered As The Festival Trophy Chase) (Grade 1) Cl1 2m5f
1. Balder Success – 8/1 Each Way.
3:20 Ladbrokes World Hurdle (Grade 1) Cl1 3m
7. Jetson – 12/1 Each Way.
4:00 Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate (A Handicap Chase) Grade 3 Cl1 2m5f
3 Caid Du Berlais– 16/1 Each Way
4:40 Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase (Amateur Riders) Cl2 3m2f
12 BenBens – 20/1 Each Way.
.................................................. .
I will be backing these in low stakes multiples but I am not tipping so anyone backing them does so at their own risk.
Going all in on Balder Success on Kirk's recommendation and he is getting banned if he doesn't win

I remember Tommy Stack and Johnjo when they were riding the last weeks prior to retiring and I'm convinced that both could have won on a few horses but didn't, and I think that - even subcnsciously - they're aware that they're not going to risk life and limb with retirement in sight. That lack of motivation may be a factor.
Whatever AP does this week we'll never see his like again.

We'll see.

I agree LT, I think Zarkander would have won if it hadn't been for that bad error. Bad luck.
I have backed a forecast at Towcester and 2 winners, and had a couple at Hexham plus 2 placed, so I've done OK today despite Cheltenham.
