I don't know why he's been given a platform to air his archaic views.

It's a bit of a garbled interview, but the cultural and religious norms are being deliberately misunderstood... I think the questions could've been better, it was an opportunity missed to pin him down.

I posted about this when it happened last night but Neil absolutely destroyed him, I think it was fair enough having him on there considering he had been allowed to ramble on earlier in the week without being challenged, it was good that Neil exposed him for what he is

the truth

is it stoning for adulterous men too?

I've got to say I'm a big fan of Andrew Neil. Didn't actually watch the interview... going to now though.

Perhaps a littlE taster of what it feels like might change his mind..if not then give him a bigger go until he does.

no. we can't argue against stoning and them subject someone to it to prove our point, highly contradicting.

I'm also a big fan of his but once nearly gave him a heart attack  It was during the Labour Party Conference of - I think - 1986 and I was in Blackpool on business. It was night and I was out socialising with some associates when I spotted Andrew sitting in a Chinese Takeaway with a very, very attractive blonde woman some years younger than him and they were obviously waiting for a takeaway. I walked in and said; "Andrew Neil..." and he went white...(I was young and especially powerfully built back then ) but he quickly thawed when I continued; "I'm a massive fan of yours. Hope you don't mind me cutting in on you like this, just wanted to say keep giving those nice politicians a grilling" (or words to that effect ) He and her both broke into huge smiles and he held out his hand and thanked me as I shook it.

He actually engaged me in political chat for about 5 minutes and seemed genuinely interested in my views.

He seemed like a thoroughly decent guy.

That's nice when you meet someone you admire and they turn out to be nice and not an arse, despite the fact you had him worried there for a minute...

I agree. Don't stone him. Walk him out of the back of a prison, shoot him in the back of the head and push him into a hole. Done. And yes, I would happily do the job.

Having seen the full interview and not just the snippet in the op Maybe he has a point with regard to how those identified initially are handled?
If they are British young men and women then to be automatically thought of as an enemy could be the wrong approach.
Creating a disconnect like this without fully understanding is dangerous and could really impact on community cohesion.

Oh yeah, I'm sure he's right about it being MI5's fault... he's so right on so many other things isn't he... you know, stoning women, FGM, domestic violence... He's a real prince.

'The families of three London schoolgirls feared to have fled to Syria to become jihadi brides have accused the Metropolitan Police of failing to pass on a crucial letter.

They say a letter from the force requesting to interview the girls in relation to a classmate who ran away to Syria last year should have been handed directly to the families.

However, the letters were hidden by the girls in their school textbooks and their families never saw them.

Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and 15-year-old Amira Abase, who attended Bethnal Green Academy in east London, sparked a police hunt after they flew to Istanbul from Gatwick Airport last month. They are now believed to be in Syria.

Abase Hussein, the father of Amira, insisted that if he had seen the police letter he would have talked his daughter out of leaving and taken away her passport'

This is utter rubbish. Any parent of a muslim teenager would keep their sons and daughters passports safely locked up. They, more than anyone should be aware that their sons and daughters may be in danger of being radicalised. As daughters are usually so protected anyway, what reason would a teenage girl have for carrying her passport on her person anyway..

Kizzy

As stated in the article is they had been made aware there had been others targeted by extremists then they could have been better prepared.
To just presume ALL Muslim teens are a risk is rubbish.

Most people don't keep their children's passports locked up in a safe. My teenage daughter doesn't carry her passport around with her but she knows which drawer it's in in my bedroom

Neil has just said on This Week that Amnesty International have resolved to have nothing more to do with CAGE citing the director's interview on there last week as one of the reason, another victim of the Andrew Neil grilling

it's amazing how much air time they get in the UK, these "hate preachers" are part of a bigger system. How much air time did the british press give that hook man that is now in jail in the US, and the UK authorities do nothing about them.

I totally agree, as a Christian Country we fail miserably to uphold our faith and police other faiths that take up residence in this country. The spectacle of watching a vicious hate preacher spew forth vile ramblings about how this country and others in the west are basically Satan is embarrassing to watch.

That this piece of crap was allowed to continue to do this for years and received police protection is a shameful indictment of this Country and a complete betrayal of our duty to protect our Christian heritage.

It finally took the American authorities to act and extradite this man to the states where justice was finally served.

But why do we allow people like that to flaunt their hate filled speech in our faces ? Freedom of speech perhaps , well yes this man does have a right to speak his mind but I also have a right not to have to be subjected in public by such vitriol.

Surely people like this need to be on a proper stage one that comes with a tight noose and a small trapdoor .

Time to get tough with these traitors.

As I said above though this interview was part of the reasons Amnesty International have had all ties with CAGE, sometimes exposing them for what they are on national tv can be worthwhile and better then allowing them to parade as a charity and go unchallenged

I can see why, the initial portion of the piece you could relate and identify that Muslim youth may, as vocalised on question time last night feel conflicted.
That said the continuation that jihad have any place in the UK is not I would have said acceptable, it seems to infer a two tier justice system for Muslim and non Muslim or that the whole system be overhauled to incorporate it.
