OiTNB is the better show, AHS writers have some sort of weird issue - they start out well but seemingly have no idea how to reach a conclusion. In my opinion, every single season of AHS so far has started out well, but ended... not so well. Actually, ended pretty abysmally. All of them. It's like they have all of these concepts but no idea where they're leading, so they just plough along, and then they're like "Oh ****! We only have three episodes left to wrap up the season??" and make a complete arse of it.

I thought Asylum had the best ending if you exclude the part about The aliens story, what was all that about? but other than that I really liked it. I especially liked the very end where they flashed back to the start

It's not really scary (and I'm a massive wuss :joker:) S1 has it's moments, S2 is dark humour, S3 is hilarious, S4 is a bit of a mix of 1+2 (in terms of humour)

I've found AHS scary at times, but no more so than an average horror. And the show does pay homage to other horror movies.

Also I haven't gotten around to watching the most recent one, but the next series is gonna have a brilliant cast (including GaGa)
