Think Snow Patrol or Take That should have been no1
Princess

Yeah Take That should have been 1!4 ain't bad though.

Why are McFly so high? They haven't even been that successful this year.
Chrizzle
27-12-2006, 11:59 AM
They've had a no1 and a no3
And a no1 album..
MarkWaldorf
27-12-2006, 12:11 PM
Yeah, mostly at the end of this year.

Again, my reaction to this is similar to the one I had for the solo artists. Not surprised to see them all there but did expect to see different positions.

Should have been;
1) Arctic Monkeys
2) The Kooks
3) Snow Patrol
4) Razorlight
5) Kasabian
6) We Are Scientists
7) Fratellis
Then the rest! The Monkeys have by far sold the most albums, sold out the most arenas and have been around for the whole year, so i don't see how they have been eclipsed by mediocre bands who have only been out for a month of the year i.e. Take That. And The View that high?! There not even that good!
Good to see the Brummy flag flying though, Guillemots are legends.

Well as far as i know they only released there album/single a few weeks ago, and they played 'old' songs as apposed to the new material on there tour so it isn't exactly a great suprise they were sold out.
So really, they havent done an awful lot in my eyes and they don't deserve to be anywhere near the top.

The fact Leona got to no1. Thats the reason you said that.
You think Take That not getting to no1 makes life unfair, try living in the real world and seeing that theres poverty and war. THATS unfair. Not some girl getting to no1.

I don't care if it is Leona or not, it could have been Ray, and as for it being "Take That" being number two I don't care much for them, I could live without there music in my life. Just think it is wrong for a TV programme like the X-Factor to ruin the idea of the Christmas Charts. It spoils the idea of the christmas number one and stops people putting out good records this time of year. That's what isn't fair.
As for there being wars and poverty about.... I know, that is why I started an Iraq thread which everyone avoided.

Razorlight's old album "Up All Night" was good, I'm not really into their new sounds though.
The View are definitally the band to watch-out-for for 2007, mark my words.

One of my favourite bands of 2006 were The Ordinary Boys and they were only number 36!

The View are overrated...Wasted Little DJ is there only real great song and maybe Superstar Tradesmen but not many more would be huge hits.
Never heard of 'The Fray' but certain bands who will shine next year are 'The Holloways' and 'Larrikin Love', there albums are immense.
Some bands breaking through aswell like SpiderSimpson, Little Man Tate, Pigeon Detectives.. they have the ability to become huge.
2007 will be a great year for indie and rock music.
And the person who said 'Up All Night' was better, i said that at first... i hated the new album for a while and only recently have i started to get into it and i think it is easily better then there last album now. Fall To Pieces is a quality song and America is one of them songs that will be around for decades.
Slightly pees me off with In The Morning though, it's played over and over again at venues. Slightly annoying song now!

The View are overrated Tanser, but it pleases the masses
I agree with you on Little Man Tate, definite potential to become one of "those bands" that make it.
And if I'm being honest, Razorlight get on my wick. I don't like America. It's catchy, but it annoys me, randomly.

I really like Little Man Tate, love listening to most of their songs and hope they are big in 2007 as i think a lot of people would like them.

Razorlight and Mcfly are in my top two. But Alice Cooper is still the best Rock star ever.

I fear the day when indie music will be mistaken as pop just like rock music has.
Honestly if America is going to be around for decades then may God save us, may God save us all!

There are some good bands on that list...
I think Tanser should be our official music reviewer though, cuz he bums around gigging all the time..

Hahaha, more like god save your fingers typing drivvel!
You have anthems from the past that everyone remembers, and i think in 20 years we'll be looking back and saying the same about America.
My mates, and this is a stone wall example of why it is an anthem, some of them hate indie music with a passion... but even they like it so, its gotta be a good song if people of other genres are taking a liking to it.
So yeah!

Gigging is the way forward, a band isn't great untill you hear it live!
And i don't bum, i simply prod with a pointed stick.
