Apparently drones all over the world are being legislated against. The establishment can spy on us but are paranoid about us spying on them. We often use a drone for filming when we are climbing; don't know if that will be a legitimate purpose or not :(

Yes there is a Woman in the House Of Lords (Baroness O' Cathain )
trying to rush it through.
But even if you do not go legal (if it comes in)
loads of Drone users will carry on as they are not effecting the public or air safety places.
And of course Amazon Drones will get UK licenses
as they will be flying to my Home and Bunker
and to old people who can not find HiFi Shops
also to many Business Customers

This does need some legislation. I'm sure a lot of drones are used responsibly but there will be those who use them for dubious purposes. The of course, there's the element of danger, flying them near airfields or airports for instance.

Any flying over 'No Fly Zones' or other 'obvious' areas such as airports etc, should be shot down as if they were 'enemy' surveillance machines, but I can't really see where a problem is with parks etc. Unless there are nutty drone owners who deliberately target the wildlife to amuse themselves?
... or filming kids... or spying on a girlfriend... I'm not a fan of these things. Everyone's a cameraman now, everyone carries a video camera and a stills camera in the form of a phone. I like to feel I own the copyright on my own image and object to being filmed or photographed... drones, as far as I can see it, are just another layer to this potential gross invasion of privacy.

you can be hidden controlling it with

But how would one with a camera be more disruptive to birds/wildlife then one without a camera?

It would be equally disruptive. But with a camera it adds a new intrusive element to these things. Arista's already going to try to catch Chaos in the buff... where will it all end?

A new Sign gone up fast
Drones have been banned from parks near Buckingham Palace and other senior Royals’ homes amid fears they could be used by spies or would-be terrorists.

hhhmmm I'm kind of torn on the subject of drones with cameras, on the one hand, i reckon the vast majority of people aren't going to be using them to spy on people (like my step son likes to make his own minigliders and he often attaches his phone to it, to record the flights) so why should they be penalised because a small minority might? But on the otherhand if you were on the receiving end of a drone privacy invasion then then maybe my opinion would be different. But then again anyone with those intentions would probably just go about that privacy invasion in a different way if drones were illegal

The Paparazzi already use them. I think if someone flies one over your property you should be able to bring it down with as many shots as you can get off while it passes overhead.

You could make this argument about a lot of things, though. If it's about privacy - do they have to ban telescopic camera lenses next? Someone with a good vantage point can take a picture of you without you knowing just as easily with one of those as they can with a drone.
Personally, I don't think the device themselves should be banned, only specific uses should be legislated against (such as spying). I've seen a few truly amazing shots of scenery and wildlife taken using drones, it would be a shame to make them completely illegal as they have plenty of Legitimate uses.
I can even think of household uses. Like if you think your roof may have been damaged in bad weather - fly your drone up to have a look rather than teetering around on a ladder. Tradespeople and construction workers could make use of them in similar ways, too.
