View Full Version : Should wishing death get you banned?

I think that this is the right section to put this thread under anyway.

I was just thinking that you get banned for wishing death on anybody right? Well I can understand infracting them as obviously it shouldn't be something that enters someones head let alone post it on a Forum.

However banning them for wishing it might come across as a bit harsh imo, it's not like they're saying that they're going to kill the person is it?

I know that I'm gonna get a lot of people disagree with me on this, but it's my opinion on things and I hope that people reply with their own thoughts on this.

If itīs towards another member of the forum, then yes, absolutely.

Otherwise... itīs harshly said and difficult to fathom, but no.

Who's been banned for death threats?

Who's been banned for death threats?

No one specifically, it's just a Forum policy though, well it is on most Forums anyway.

I could never wish death on anyone and it certainly should be a banning issue if ever said to another member on here.

However,I take your point Mock that in reality, people saying it wouldn't likely mean it literally.
I'd say it is best to just avoid saying it really as to anyone in my view.

Towards a celebrity or non forum member- No
To a forum member- Maybe, depends, or just infract them.

You would get infracted for doing it not a straight ban

Wishing death or harm on anyone even if it's not another forum member will get you an infraction, if that infraction then pushes you into a ban then tough, you shouldn't really be posting stuff like that anyway.

No. Wishing death on some people is completely natural. plus last time i checked, WISHING never hurt anyone. Wishes don't work!

anyone that takes wishes seriously is an idiot that watches too many Disney movies. Hopes/wishes/dreams are all FANTASY!

I disagree. Wishing death on someone isn't natural. You can dislike someone, and hate them, but wishing for them to die is petty and idiotic.

Plus it's not nice to read and doesn't look good on the forum to read.

Wishing death on someone is ridiculous and the message it puts across is sadistic and nasty. Therefore, infractions will be given out and the post will be removed.

Only in very rare occasions can I see it being ok, in terms of terrorists, because they are horrible evil monsters. But even then, wishing death adds nothing to the forum.

I agree it really isn't that serious and a lot of the time people art even being serious its just a way of exaggerating your hate for someone.

I was brought up never to say I hated anyone and I would never say i wanted someone to die

its better to just wish that they have to read all the threads in creative writing instead
