Can you still have free domain names ending in co.uk?
I had one years ago but it's not mine anymore, do you have to pay for them after a certain amount of time?

Is this for your new range of room fragrance sprays?
:suspect:
Not that I know of
You should be able to get a .co.uk domain name for about 8-10 quid a year.
Do you already have a website? or are you planning on using a free website (that's pretty unprofessional btw) and using a redirect so that you can use your own domain name with it?
You can get shared hosting and choose a domain name at the same time, shared hosting for a smallish website will only be like £8 per month then your domain name is charged yearly.
I always use hostgator tbh for both websites and domains and have never had a problem with them
Hmm actually I just checked and the cheapest website of mine atm is a shared hosting plan and it's a fiver a month, the domain name is charged at 9.95 per year
Also Kizzy and this is assuming the domain name is for you and it's some type of business...will the customer base be exclusively for people in the UK?
If not then you would be better opting for a .com url that way you wont miss out on google searches from outside of the UK

I don't know I just know I had one in 2010 and now when I key it in it says it can't be found... maybe they're only free for a limited time?

Possibly. Or it was maybe free for 1 year then because you never paid after that it doesn't belong to you any more?
Go to whois and check if your domain name now belongs to anyone else

No it was definitely free, there doesn't seem to be that option now and it is available so maybe it was just free for a year or something :/ oh well thanks Josy :)
Kizzy you can get some offers on domain names if you search around like £1.99 for the fist year and stuff like that

Kizzy,I have a website with Moonfruit, you could try them, they give you a free one ,then as you progress you can upgrade to bigger ones,it's pretty reasonable too and I always found it easy to use as they use drop and drag(which I prefer),worth a try.

When I got http://bigbrother247.co.uk back in 2011 it cost me £15 for two years. When it came to being renewed in 2013 I renewed it for another two years and it cost me £10. That's with GoDaddy and I've never had a problem - they're really helpful too.
At the moment, a year on a doman is £6.99 in total but you get discounts if you buy more than one year. I know they're doing a deal for £1 a month where you get the domain, hosting/website and email.

try namecheap.com, you'll get most .co.uk's for about £5/year, .com for £7.50 - £10.
Personally I'd always go for a .com over a .co.uk.
