They wouldn't have to engage in petty propaganda and smear campaigns if they actually had anything positive to campaign on. It's like they're saying "Vote for us, because you don't want this!!"... rather than giving any compelling reasoning for why we should want them.

Valid point, I think many would prefer little green men from mars in power than the tories again... Thinking about it so what if a representative of the north does call the tune anyway? what is so inherently bad about Mr Salmond, why is it only those of the south that are judged as having the interests of the UK at heart?
