Rock School's Lil’ Chris passes away aged 24

Rock School’s Lil’ Chris – real name Chris Hardman – has passed away aged 24, according to reports.

Chris was a singer-songwriter, actor and TV personality who first found fame at 15 when he appeared in Channel 4's Rock School.

His mum Karen Hardman has shared a number of pictures of her son online, and family have been sending their wishes to her.

His friend Lloyd, who he recorded a single with, shared a post earlier today, writing: "I can not believe I'm doing this and I'm completely devastated.

"Rest in peace brother bear. Love you mate. Chris Hardman Aka Lil' Chris."

Tributes have begun pouring in for Chris.

Why.......ffs is it a big secret, this is like the Peaches Geldof thing...we all suspected Heroin overdose but no one would come out and say it.

Maybe this was a drug overdose as well, maybe he had been fighting with cocaine and Heroin for years...

Not always....when my nan died her death certificate stated old age....I think it was because she was over 90 but anyway.

Only a post mortem can confirm the cause of death. The rest is just speculation. Tomorrow this will be front page news. I just hope the papers respect the family and don't jump to conclusions.

People can "die of natural causes" at any age.

Yes, there's some reason like heart failure etc but there doesn't have to be an accident or illness just because he was so young.

Again, people can die suddenly at ANY age. You don't have to be elderly.

Old age is not a scientifically recognized cause of death; there is always a more direct cause although it may be unknown in certain cases and could be one of a number of aging-associated diseases.

Really really sad. I used to watch Rock School with my young daughter, she developed a lasting adoration of Kiss and a huge crush on Lil' Chris. So hope it's not the old too much too young story, he seemed to be a real sparky kid with lots of life and energy. RIP.

Im sure his family have got more important things on their mind than updating you or anyone on exactly what happened the second they find out.
