All things considered it seems to have been about as smooth and well managed as could be hoped for and Goodluck Jonathan's phoning to concede defeat and congratulate the winner is a promising sign. I have my doubts over whether someone who previously governed the country as a military dictator can now act as a democratic president but we'll have to wait and see.
