Been all over twitter, loads of celebs have changed their avi's/backgrounds to blue
According to TIDAL’s website, it’s “the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial.”
There are two paid subscription options: $19.99 a month for high-fidelity audio, and $9.99 for standard quality audio. TIDAL can be streamed on the web, and downloaded for iOS and Android devices.
Several artists have already thrown their support behind TIDAL, changing their Twitter icons to light blue and tweeting the hashtag #TIDALForAll. Among them are Kanye West, Rihanna, J.Cole, Nicki Minaj & Beyonce
Press Conference is due in about an hour

There's lossless quality music (not that people will be able to tell if they have ****ty quality headphones), it's owned by the artists, it's 4x the price of Spotify :hehe:

Not here for the illuminati demanding £20 a month to listen to them. I was alright with paying for Spotify but if they all remove their music from Spotify in favour of this then I'm just gonna download their **** idhtt for £20 a month.

There is nothing so edifying than seeing a line up of the super rich saying "hey twats, you know how you get all the music for free well we want you to pay 20 quid a month so we can make even more money, how do you like them apples?"
er
no
stick them apples up your prolapsed anus

Spotify has been known to screw over artists and cripple the industry, an alternative that can support the artists is only a good thing, which this is aiming to do right? Of course, it's the lesser artists you'd hope would be supported more than the multi-millionaires on stage.
Better audio quality is also always a positive, and it's the same price as Spotify if you don't want the lossless quality streaming.
I don't like streaming music, much prefer owning it, but £20 a month is nothing really if it gets to the point where you don't need to look elsewhere for music. It'll no doubt be a success if they pull hard for the exclusives.
An iPod with everything you want to listen to >>>>> either service though and always will be.
Samuel you pay triple for tidal for what you pay for spotify, plus the people who are on it are already reallllllly ****ing rich and just thirsty for money :umm2:
Spotify Premium also has 'Extreme' sound quality options, so that is a poor poor excuse tbh
Smithy
31-03-2015, 03:54 PM
Spotify has no control of the % of the money which artists receive from streaming, it's down to the labels, they make the majority of the money from streaming and give artists a tiny %, that's what needs to change, not releasing a more pretentious more expensive version under the guise of "doing it for the listeners" when it's quite clearly about the money

But they want £19.99 a month direct debit
Is far to early
as you need to find out who has gone on tidal

This is going to be a monumental flop.
Yes but its Worldwide
so will tick over.
£19:99 a month
is too High
as I would want Jim Hendrix in 5.1 DTS
they can not do that
Smacks of greed; if that stage had been Jay Z and a bunch of left field artists who deserve promotion then it might not seem as appalling.
Samuel.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the standard bitrate 160 for Spotify streaming, and the 'extreme' you get with premium is 320.
160kbps is abysmal, and lossless is better than 320 - though you need good headphones to tell the difference.
Tidal Premium edition costs the same as Spotify's premium edition, both at 320kbps (which really should be standard). Whether wanted or not, you're getting video streaming with that too. It at least equals out.
Tidal is already being called a monumental flop after not even being able to hang onto a place in the Top 700 on iTunes/App store

I'm so glad it's forcast to flop, I hate being a debbie downer but most involved are literally multi millionaires and the whole project screams greed to me.
