Now, I wonder if you Brits have The Surreal Life. Over here, it's on VH1. (I am way too lazy to see if you have it over there, I'm guessing you do.)

The Surreal Life is basically "The Real World" with Celebrities. What I find funny is that they feature three contestants in common: Brigitte Nielsen, Traci Bingham, and Caprice.

Traci and Brigitte will also be on The Surreal Life (Battle of the All-Stars or something) early January, just like they were on Celebrity Big Brother.

Anywho, I find that ironic.

Why did I post this? I. do. not. know.

Nice to see a fellow American :spin:

What do you expect, their careers are over so they are taking part in as many reality shows as they can. What else do they have going for them?

Haha. I thought i was the only American on here! :D

The only sort of fame that anyone has reached off of The Surreal Life is a TV Show on VH1, which isn't saying much. (A part of their CelebReality)

Do they even show any of the VH1 shows in the UK like The Surreal Life, Flavor of Love, Celebrity Fit Club, etc.?

Yes, he got intoxicated one night and started riding his scooter naked and pissing in a corner. The poor soul didn't even know where he was or what he was doing.

I've watched The Surreal Life before. I think it was the one with Brigette, and Flavour Flav? Or how ever it's spelt.

It was actually quite good. But I prefer CBB. I didn't get the concept.

The last USA BB I saw was rubbish!
No crowd, no Davina, no booing, evictions in broad daylight!

Snooze!

Ive heard of The Surreal Life before... I even caught an episode once... I was kinda shocked when i saw Brigitte and Caprice on. I didn't stick with it.

I absolutely hate USA BB. I would enjoy it much more, though, if the evictions were more intense and there was a crowd.

CBS won't do that.

And The Surreal Life is just celebrities living in a house together, no elimination. The All-Star one coming up (with celebrities from past seasons) is a competition, though.

I dont get why it's hated though.
I think the fact you can have alliances/discuss nominations makes it more exciting to watch.

I didnt know you could discuss nominations in USA BB! I'm devastated! It should be allowed over here! Imagine the backstabbing! I wish they had relaxed the rules for Big Brother 7! :bawling:

VH1 tries what it can.

VH1 is, however, much better than MTV.

MTV is all about dating shows (Next, My Own, and some new one involving a lie detector?!)

VH1 is about celebrity gossip and internet junk. As well as Celebreality shows (Best Week Ever, Celebrity Eye Candy, Web Junk 20, Breaking Bonaduce, Hogan Knows Best)

Although, I hate the Celebreality shows.

That is the only reason why I like it. I like seeing the strategy.

However, the summertime isn't a good time to air a show.

...it does fairly well in ratings, though.

I see BBUK as more of a "social experiment" rather than a "strategic game"

Really?
I knew the show wasn't that popular, plus I've never seen the actualy ratings, because you guys use the 2/2.6 thing or what ever it is. So, that I dont understand.
I'm guessing it's somewhere around 6/8 million?

Yeah, true.
I dont think people would enjoy it over here anyway, if they did do it.

I have no idea, I just remember seeing it number 1 or 2 for the week for TV Ratings in my entertainment weekly.

What I like about yours is that you actually have a day-by-day recap, everyday. Ours, well, we combine about 3 days into an hour.

I like both versions, but they are very different.

The first series of Big Brother USA was like the UK version, but the public wasn't interested so they changed the format to be more like Survivor which was a huge hit.

I can't stand Survivor. It's in it's like 3838th season.

The Surreal Life 1 was shown over here on VH1 but didnt do to weel i think and wasnt shown again. I think its a bit borning and they edit it so badly and over dramatise things.

BBUSA is the kinda the same - but much more exciting. The best thing about BBUSA is that its totally unpredictable. You really dont know what the housemates are going to do next. BB All Stars was good but not great - I much prefer BB4.

I think for BB7 USA they really need to go back to having a season were non of the housemates know each other. Since BB4 there have been housemates that known each other. In BB4 they had the EX's broought in, In Season 5 thay had the twins and Brother and Sister Nakomis & Michael, In Season 6 they had the pairs and in All stars obvasily they had people from the same series in the house.

Big Brother 4 was one of the weaker seasons. I bet the only reason its your favorite is because it was shown on UK television.

No - I think it has amazing Housemates! Alison, Erika, Robert, Jun! And More! I have seen BBAS, BB6, BB5, BB4 and some of BB3 & BB2 and out of them i would say BB4 is the best.

My favorite was S6. The Nerd Herd vs. The Sovereign Six.
