this is the smartest and best reform within the social services, care and councils in a generation and its being piloted in England soon

for decades the social services have argued with the nhs trusts about who pays for what
in the end the care for a person comes down 1 to simple question
is their primary need a social need or health need?

try to0 work out what that question means....so the 2 departments then spend 24 hrs a day 365 days a year fighting to pass their workload from one to another........its a farce its a disgrace...its wasteful its time consuming its stupid its expensive and it gives the poor patients an appalling experience as they are pulled from pillar to post caught up in an endless war over who pays for the care

big respect to the scots for merging the 2 all under 1 umbrella and 1 budget

PLEASE LETS ALL DO THE SAME THROUGHOUT THE UK

Is there a link? It sounds good in theory.

yes should have happened years ago instead of endlessly harassing the cared for and the carer......this is a MASSIVE issue for us all as we have a hugely aging and expanding population......more and more will be cared for at home and the systems need to be right. the whole battle between trust and social services has been phenomenally wasteful and damaging, not to mention plain stupid
