I was going to goto Birmingham Centre for the celebrations but apparently it might not even go ahead... wind and rain isn't good. Supposed to tell everyone by 11.30pm but thats too late, so i've decided to stay in and watch everything on telly.

I had enough drinking over the last week.... need to start trying to get rid of my podge!

Does anyone do the tradition when before midnight their dads stand outside the door, then as Big Ben chimes, they come back in?
I asked Sol, and he hadn't heard of it LOL.
But I know 3 men in my street who do that, including us. It's meant to be, if a tall dark stranger is the first person in your house in the New Year it brings you luck.

Siouxsie
01-01-2007, 07:18 PM
yes we in the north east do this tradition lol you are supposed to take a piece of coal for good look into the house . But come to think of it there isnt much coal about these days is there
