15th April 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany by the 11th Armoured Division of the British Army.
I watched the BBC News this morning which featured the last survivor Gina Turgel along with some authentic footage, and wept like a child.
Man's Inhumanity To Man.
We must NEVER forget.

Less than a lifetime later anti-Semitic attacks across Europe are at the highest they've been for decades. It's like we've learned nothing. Blessings on the dead, and on the countries and the men who died trying to save them.

Of course the kids care, it's the fools in power who keep playing war games with real people who don't care.
It's hideous that happened and you would think it would have bee a huge wake up call, that the demonisation of huge sections of society would be instantly recognised and addressed.. but it isn't.
Could I see a similar situation developing in the future? Yes.

My sentiments exactly.
Wasn't it meant to be The war to end wars...oh if only.
Mankind has learned nothing from past mistakes.

I will NEVER understand anti-Semitism, as long as I live.

Oh, I presumed that when you posted: "Could I see a similar situation developing in the future? Yes." you already had a logical reason for doing so.
No problem.
I can envisage a similar sort of scenario, but it will not be one insane regime of demons attempting the genocide of one poor race of humans, it will be Islamic Terrorists attempting the genocide of just about every race of humans on earth.... Ho... but wait... that's already happening.
