Howard Pilott
was on the Daily Politics
Presenter Andrew
told him there is 10 other Socialist Parties
they never get any place in politics.
Feck me he is a Time Warp.
Why have him on the that hour long show
he should be in a Museum
Sign Of The Times
Heh yeah saw that, I quite like what the Daily Politics are doing atm having little interviews with a load of parties with no hopes of winning a seat. They had the Monster Raving Looneys on there yesterday, what's funny is that some past Looney policies have actually become law

Yeah they are just communists in disguise, which I do not have a big understanding of but I know that is very easily corruptible so I would not vote for them. I saw Eileen Hunter from the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TuSC) and she was really impressive on how she called out the disgusting austerity while bankers are having their pay rises and caps blocked. Hope they do well.
Not really communists in disguise, parties like the SPGB would make no distinction between socialism and communism

I don't understand what you mean. Socialism and communism are not the same thing.

Say that to the invention of the NHS, a socialist concept at the heart of our country.
Josh i can see why you like the Green party
I like them because I hate injustice and I think that they are one of the only parties to stand up to it. Labour are dancing around trying to appeal to the masses and I don't buy it.

Yeah and I mean capitalism really works for the one million people using food banks, on zero hour contracts, living below the poverty line etc etc

A very valid point Jack, but these facts are not proof that Capitalism per se does not work - only that Capitalism - like all systems - is exploited and corrupted by MAN's GREED and UNFAIRNESS. It is 'the unacceptable face of Capitalism' which needs stopping.
There is NO alternative to Capitalism. History has taught us that. Socialism - whatever that really means - and Communism DO NOT WORK and LT is correct.

Greed is not an inherent human trait though, it is socialised, the product of and perpetuated by capitalism itself

Well I have not met many people who dish their pay packets out to their pals and families each month rather than spend it on themselves so I guess we perhaps have to look at ourselves?
I take it you have a variety of consumer goods that you could do without like a laptop, phone, tablet, extra clothes, extra shoes
I would sell them and donate it all to the poor:shrug:
or you could just keep them all and give the odd bit now and then to charity to assuage your conscience?

What about those that want that contract?

For communists they are: Marx made no distinction between Socialism and Communism. Socialism predated him of course but that was considered utopian socialism as opposed to his which had an allegedly scientific basis. All communists are socialists but not all socialists are communists basically. Some communists consider socialism as more the means to their end, like Stalin thought that though communism cannot be established in one country socialism could. A party like the SPGB certainly wouldn't subscribe to Stalin's 'socialism in one country' theory though and they certainly wouldn't see someone like Hollande or Natalie Bennett as a socialist.

Look at Sir Alex Ferguson and his socialism..]
I mean I take it he drives a basic 1 litre 10 year old super-mini and lives on a council estate?

Well for me neither does capitalism, we have had near endless capitalist policies in the UK that always seem to break down and cause problems.
If they really worked, the time the UK has been under such polices, we should be the strongest and richest Nation in the World.
Please don' try to tell me there wasn't a capitalist govt; in during the Blair years either.
I think it has had its day,new ways need to be 'really' tried now and not just tinkered with.

Great for them, but not many people do. 0 hour contracts are only do-able if you live at home with no responsibilities really. They cant even be used as a second job as the contract requires you to be available at any time
