Our special Big Brother sources have revealed Civilian Big Brother is all set to return in the next 3 weeks, and 7th May has been tagged the Launch Date.

We can also expect the Big Brother propaganda machine to swing into operation this week with the press release of the eye and other tit bits of gossip, the launch will be the earliest ever for a civilian series.

The press have slammed Civilian Big Brother as a “farce” after several potential housemates claimed they have been asked to star on the upcoming 16th series of the Channel 5 show.

Dolly Parton enthusiast Joe Skelly – who runs the singer’s fan club and has splashed out thousands supporting her – insists he was surprised that he was approached to be on the reality TV series and admitted he feels sorry for those who have auditioned.

He told the Daily Star: “I was shocked. I never watch Big Brother and I’d never apply.

Porn star Logan Pierce is said to have rejected an approach star in the next season.

Not possible. We would have the eye, launch date, presenter pictures and first week schedules by now - the stuff for May 7th has been released and it won't be launching that week.

Would be exciting, but I'm not believing anything that doesn't come straight from Channel 5 after the eye fiasco.

Funnily enough, he favourited a tweet of mine, today, which was from the summer saying all his stuff was lies. Trying to fool me again was he? :P

I just don't understand why he would go for a date which there is literally no possibility of it launching on.

If it were the 7th May that doesn't leave them that much time to promote the series, I guess it's possible, maybe they want to release eye and stuff later this year? But I doubt it!

Originally before the Early May launch rumors arose, I would've put money on the launch being Thursday 4th June.

Not so sure now, still think it'll launch in May, but if it doesn't. Then I guess it will launch around the same time Power Trip launched last year, which was on 5 June.

Yeah, Jarrod told me that, after CBB15 finished, a couple months ago.

He said somewhere around Wednesday 10th June.
I took it with a pinch of salt though, and then a couple of weeks later, we got the Early May rumors.

Yes so will I

I highly doubt it will launch anywhere near the 7th May.

A) They wouldn't risk it, as it will kill the ratings, for the first week.
B) That's like two weeks away, and we still haven't got the eye or anything. If it were to launch on the 7th, we'd have gotten something, back in early April.

Might I just point out that the first BB14 eye was only revealed 3 weeks before launch. So technically it could still launch on like 13th May.

I'm up for either a Wednesday 13th May or Wednesday 20th May Launch.
I'd like it to launch on a Wednesday this year, I'm kind of bored of Thursday launches, as it's been the same since BB14.

I loved BB13, best series on C5, with BB14.

But god that launch was awful.
Tacky and trashy doesn't even describe it. I wasn't a fan of the Tuesday launch, it didn't feel right, and it gave them time for an eviction the Friday of the same week, which was a bad mistake, IMO.

I would've preferred they waited a day, and launched on Wednesday 6th June 2012, or even Thursday 7th June.

But hey, it almost reached 3M, which is far more than what we can expect now, so fair play.

I share every one of your opinions! Mid-may seems like the right time.

What I'd like them to do instead of the 2-night launch is to put 10 in on launch night and then another 6 in the following week. It would be interesting to see how the dynamics change with such a large group coming in.

And I agree, Monday and Tuesday launches are a big no-no! The lines are too blurred on whether the time between the launch and first Friday count as a 'week'.

Although i feel as though I can't wait, the 20th May would be the best I think.

And also I saw a clip of the BB13 launch twist and it just seems like the lamest things ever. Deana's reasons were embarrassing but there would be no way she'd have been able to come up with anything better!

Yeah, I wouldn't mind which, 13th or 20th.
20th sounds better, as it's not too early, and not too late.

I just want every single one of the 14 housemates to enter the house, on Day 1, TBH.
No split-launch, and no housemates entering later in the week. Add 3 new housemates in Week 3 or 4, to add some new blood.

Hopefully they won't have another split-launch this year, as it rated so badly last year.

They can even make the launch night two hours instead of an hour and a half, like they did for CBB14, and CBB15 so they can fit in all the 14-16 housemates as well as some time for the obligatory god-awful TWIST THAT WILL ROCK THE HOUSE TO IT'S OUTER CORE!!!!! :joker:

Although I've only seen BB5-7 and 15, I think new HMs aren't really needed as early as you've said. It's about the week 6 or 7 mark where the fatigue begins to set in and a shake up is needed.

With regards to launch night twists I thought the BB14 and BB15 launch twists were very good - very well thought out and 'shocking' without influencing the whole series (I am not referring to BB15's second launch by the way - the pass to the final of course was a bad idea). The CBB15 twist was just horrendously bad and so lame - Katie Hopkins basically got to choose who was up for eviction for nothing. I would much prefer twists that aren't focussed on one particular HM - and if they do involve a particular HM (like CBB14 and BB9) then it can't be as lame as Katie Hopkins' twist!

Week 6/7 is too late for a ten week series, IMO.
This happened with BB15, where they introduced 3 new housemates in Week 6.

I think Week 4 is fine for some new housemates, in a ten week series.
As four would have already gone, so two or three can enter.

Week 6 for a 13 week series is fine. Like BB7.

They need to shake up the launch night twists a bit.
Why not have a launch night task, instead or something.

I didn't mind the BB14 launch night twist, it worked well, but that suitcase shredding thing was stupid.
Any housemate with a brain would know they can't destroy your personal belongings, which you've spent your own money on.

I really doubt it. The seventh is in two weeks (and a day) and we haven't even gotten the eye yet.
For CBB15, we got the theme, information and eye on the 8th December 2014 if I recall - 30 days before launch night.
With that in mind, I really doubt that we'd be getting it in two weeks (especially on the same day as the election), but I wouldnt dismiss the possibility

I don't think the BB15 HMs entered too late. It was just that it was a very nasty bunch of people who were already in the house who were not willing to trust them. 4 and a half weeks is enough to get to know a HM.

That's a good idea, a launch night task! It would be interesting if the HMs entered to see some scary-looking task apparatus.

And that never occurred to me actually about BB14! You're right, surely they knew!
