If you buy online
it means you will not ask your GP.

DNP - is like TNT Explosives
the pill she took, bought online,
killed her.

The Hospital could not save her

ref : GMBHD

[Ella Parry took the pills on April 12 and began to feel unwell hours later
Her metabolism began to soar, her body overheated and she died
Her mother has now issued a stark warning about buying diet pills online
Tablets contained highly-toxic substance known as Dinitrophenol, or DNP]

[Her mother Fiona said: 'She had taken even more of these "slimming tablets"
than recommended on the pack and had no idea just how dangerous they really were']

['The drug was in her system, there was no antidote, and she had taken a lethal dose.
'As Ella deteriorated, the staff in A&E did all they could to stabilise her.]

Such a tragedy. A beautiful young girl uneccesarily dead. She does not even look as if she needed 'slimming pills' if her photos are anything to go by.

It's time now that these 'internet' sales were subject to the same enforcement processes that 'real' shops and retail outlets are. I don't profess to know how our Police would achieve this, but SOMETHING HAS to be done.

Greater parental education and more enforced responsibility and liability on the part of internet hosting sites will be a step in the right direction.

Such a shame.

I wish there was some ad campaign or something as things like this will just keep happening, even supposed 'health food' shops like Holland and Barratt are just cashing in on the latest diet fads like raspberry keytones and bootea. Boots stock fat, sugar and carb blockers so of course people will think quick fixes like this are acceptable dietary supplements, they're everywhere.

You're right Kizzy, they are everywhere.

Children need to be educated regarding health, and there should be a public health warning regarding diet pills, and the blockers you've mentioned.

There is no easy fix for losing weight, children/people need to understand that if they consume more calories than they burn off they will inevitably put on weight. And diet pills are not the answer.

I'm working hard with my 2 teens to try to educate them regarding food and exercise (not easy when 1 hates any physical exercise and that same 1 loves junk food!) But as her mum it's my duty to teach her.

It's not easy as we live in a fast food society.

I would never take diet pills. I think they're very dangerous.
