Don't blame him, C4 has fallen so far, they only live off shock pieces now. Unlike ITV and BBC, Channel 4 doesn't really have any heavy hitters to keep it going, so it depends on crap and shockumentaries.

It's not what he was there to do, he was there to promote his new film. I would have walked out as well if I were him.
Anyway Age of Ultron doesn't need that much promotion, I'm going to see it tonight, can't wait

I don't know why those questions were asked... It was completely irrelevant. I do think Robert came across as extremely arrogant though, even before the personal questions.

He could have used it to his advantage and told people it is possible to turn your life around and hasn't he made all his drug problems etc public anyway? Probably wasn't the best question to ask him,but to walk out was a tad childish.

He's probably fed up to the back teeth of talking about it all the time, he probably wants to move on and forward now. Avengers is a fun, family movie, as should these interviews promoting the film

I'm surprised at that, springing those kinds of questions during a film promo? Ashamed of you Kristian :nono:

Is Robert Downey Jnr lucky to get an Interview or is C4 lucky to get a an interview with him?
..he goes to talk about a movie and Krishnan starts to ask him about depression/dark periods/his dad and drug past..I don't think he came across as arrogant at all but just stunned by the questioning...Krishnan is an idiot...

..yeah it's his style to be an idiot and try to talk about personal stuff when that's not what has been agreed and isn't what's expected...maybe someone should ask him about his personal life and past when he's not expecting it...

As much as I agree that it was inappropriate to ask these questions when he's there to simply promote a movie, I think he could have just said "I don't want to talk about that" instead of the whole walk-out thing. Krishnan did say just before "You can answer them if you want to or not if you don't".
I also get the impression that he didn't really want to ask him about that, he was really hesitant and seemed nervous. I get the feeling he was told to do it tbh.

he did say that but if you watch the other video that Arista posted where he's interviewing Quentin Tarantino something similar happened and Quentin says to him numerous times (after the interviewer says he doesn't have to answer) that he doesn't want to talk about that yet he still keeps on and on

..yeah it's a hindsight thing though, at the time he looked stunned and just reacted but he shouldn't have been put in that position in a film promotion interview...

Anyway on topic, I dont think an actor should have to justify their past in an interview where they are promoting a film. I dont get why Krishnan keep doing this after his Tarantino interview but I reckon if he does it one more time it will be the last time C4 news get an interview like this. To grill an actor like this is just plain stupid. Its just silly point scoring. I think the film companies will start to deny c4 news access to their stars and Krishnan can ask himself if his style of questioning was really worth it.

Yeah, very good points. This is at least the second time it's happened and, like Ammi said, they should have run this past him before starting the interview.
I just think a "No, I'm not here to talk about that" would have been better than the walk-out, but of course if he continued pressing after that then I'd have no problem with him ending the interview. But yeah, I definitely think it was inappropriate. It also seems that C4 are a little proud of the controversy they've courted with this with their upload of the clip online.

...hmmm, I'm not sure Lostie whether they would be proud of it because they didn't actually get the interview with him walking out whereas other channels will so they kind of lose out and will they keep paying a high salary which I presume he gets to an interviewer who keeps getting 'non interviews' if he keeps on doing it...so basically giving them nothing..
