On the BB site about the announcement of the series starting it says:
That's right, Tuesday is the new Friday - you heard it here first..

I don't think they mean that.

I think they just mean you would normally expect a big live show on a Friday, but the launch is on a Tuesday.

Why would they say "you heard it here first" though :suspect:

It's not really a ground-breaking change to have a launch show on Tuesday... are they forgetting BB13  That was only 3 years ago too

It could mean that the live shows are on a Tuesday! They moved CBB love shows to Tuesday from Wednesday! We haven't had a Friday launch in a long time (not including second part launch)

Maybe! Might get a bigger audience on a Tuesday

They, like us, clearly trying to forget the Dowling years.

The first eviction has already been confirmed for Friday 22nd at 9pm - 10:30pm, so no. They mean it's exciting like a Friday. They always say "you heard it here first"

That's good tbh.

So that means the first evictee will have had 10 days in the house and not 3 like Victoria? :fc:

That's brilliant that the first evictee will be evicted on Day 11! It probably means only one or two halfway housemates, or none at all - considering the evictions will be quite late.

There is a live show on Friday 15th but we don't know what for.

Imagine if Victoria had been in the house for 10 days instead of 3 </3

BB should rewind time and put ha in the BB16 house :clap1:

True.

11 days till first eviction. That gives the housemates a few days longer than the last two first evictees, Sallie and Tamara, who were evicted on Day 9.

11 days is a long time to get to know someone, IMO.

That 4 day eviction was appalling in BB13. Biannca was in the house longer than Victoria was.

If I was a BB housemate, I'd be pissed off being evicted on Day 4.
It's one thing being first out, on Day 9. But 3 days really is cruel.

Especially when some housemates spend a lot money on clothes for the BB house, only to be evicted 72 hours later, having worn none of them. What a waste.

The only experience you get from Day 4 evictee, is entering the door, and coming out of the door, as well as being in the Diary Room chair.

With a Day 9, you were in there long enough to experience a weekly task, and even nominate at least once. So you've at least done something fundamental in terms of Big Brother.

Who? She is no Benazir

Beinazir got it the worst.

Being sent home on the back of a bus with only a blanket wrapped around her was disgusting.

It's highly unlikely evictions will ever permanently move from Fridays for normal Big Brother - the local council sets the amount of live show nights Big Brother can have every year, and the majority of these are Fridays (I can't remember the exact numbers

The producers do have an allowance of non-Friday live shows, but the majority of these are reserved for CBB so the shorter runs can have two evictions a week

It's 32 live shows a year, I believe. For Big Brother, and both Celebrity Big Brother's.

Yeah, just found it - 32 live shows a year total, and only 14 can take place on days other than Friday, so once you've taken out the extra evictions for CBB there's only a handful of midweek shows left for BB

It just means a big live show on a Tuesday, unusually for the civilian BB.
