I don't believe that holding this competition was a 'good idea' but, it is within the law of the USA and therefore there is nothing that anyone could do about it, and I am so glad that - for once - the only fatalities are terrorists.

The lady organiser of the contest has been surrounded in controversy for years - she has taken out ad space on buses for the purposes of inciting racial hatred toward muslims, so its all been a bit of a stage managed event. That said, the gunmen of course shouldn't have taken the action they were intending either, so all in all a completely sick bunch of people. The worst from society on both sides.
