The 'R' word is banded around way too much and it degrades the meaning of the word and confuses people about its meaning.
As soon as anyone criticisis Islam(a religion),Some idiotic people in life start throwing the 'R' word around just to try and shut any discussion down because they ultimately feel that they have a weaker argument.

It is NOT racist to criticise religion.It happens constantly on here.If it were racist then half of us would be banned.
I personally see Islam as a backwards out of date medievil religion which refuses to pull itself out of the dark ages.
Am i racist?No.I went to school in a mainly Muslim area and had friends who were Muslim.
I have nothing against anybody because of their skin colour or place of origin,
Just the backwards religion that many of them believe.Alot of Muslims are decent people who would not harm anyone but it still does'nt stop me from branding their religion backwards and archaic.
It is funny how in the eyes of these idiotic people the man talks about you can criticise the religions mainly followed by white people until you're blue in the face but say one bad thing about Islam and you're a racist.These people have been taught the wrong definition of the word by confused people before them and the confusion is passed down creating more people who don't know what the word 'racist' means until the whole definition of the word is skewed to fit their agenda.

"Racism" is banded around too much these days, that's true. It's also not entirely untrue that there are people who go too far the other way, and seek to excuse the inexcusable for fear of being thought of as racist.

However... I watched the video... and I'm afraid to say that I don't see much in it other than a frustrated and bitter old man trying - in a really convoluted, patronizing way - to justify his own prejudices. His video can be summed up thus;

Yes his primary point was "Boo", with a secondary undertone of "Hoo". He wants to be able to hold strong opinions but doesn't have the balls to own those opinions so has made what can only be described as a "hissy fit" video about the people he perceives as "foolishly" not agreeing with his Ukippy ideals.

We appear to be baking some sort of "irony pie". Ironies upon ironies. It seems that people are so desperate to agree with him that they can plainly see and point out the irony in "exactly those he describes" appearing in the thread to do "exactly what he describes" (even though that hasn't actually happened) but fail to see the immediate and overwhelming irony in the video itself; a man complaining about individuals being lumped under the banner of "racists" in order to dismiss their opinions, whilst in the same breath lumping other individuals under the banner of "progressives" (here used as an obvious slur) in order to... what? Oh yes. In order to dismiss their opinions.

The fact that he does this so easily and so quickly tells me all I need to know about his mindset.

3) He makes "progressives" sound like a dirty word

4) He starts referring to those who he has lumped under his chosen term as "They", "Them", "Those People"

I honestly despair for anyone who can't see this fellow for what he is.

I think he is mixing up progressive with being politically correct. PC has gone wild, and it is giving people a free pass who would not normally have had one. However, I have seen no evidence to suggest that there is a ground swell of support for ISIS on the back of being PC. I also think that the world in general has been astute enough to see the difference between an ordinary law abiding muslim and a terrorist. If he had stuck with political correctness as a topic rather than target an entirely new breed of people under a term that means nothing, his argument would not have lost all sense of perspective.

'Boo Hoo'? There is nothing in the man's demeanour, or in what he is saying, or the manner in which he is saying it, which justifies any perception that he is 'feeling sorry for himself' or which wreaks of 'self-pity' as the term 'Boo hoo' would imply, nor is there anything to suggest he is throwing a 'Hissy Fit'.

Far from it, because he is self-assured and complely confident in what he is saying - so much so that there is glint of occasional mockery both in his eye and in his tone.

'Hissy Fit'? There is nothing in this man's demeanour or behaviour to justify any perception that he is throwing a strop or tantrum. He is cool,calculating and collected - in control of both himself and what he is saying.
