This is so sad, I had issues with him at first but he reached out to me and after we hadhed it out I found him to be a really lovely person. RIP Claymores and if Lee manages to speak to a family member I hope she can pass on condolenses to his family.
Sad news, I think he was the first person I talked to on here over our shared NFL interest. RIP Claymores.

This is sad news, he used to wind me up at times but he often sent me a pm with a nice message to it too,and we had some good responses to each others posts when he was on the forum.
His name has been around here ever since I joined and it does feel bad that we won't now hear from him again.

I remember the username from a while back but I don't think I ever interacted with him that I can remember.
Always sad to hear stuff like this. R.I.P and condolences to his family.
Was he elderly or quite young?
R.I.P Claymores the 4am club will never be the same again.
I was thinking of the 4am club today actually after I read this thread and then it got me thinking of Kerry :(
Ian had a lot of time for Kerry as she did for him, they got on well most of the time apart from a few tiffs.
The forum has changed a lot these past few years.

Not sure exactly what age he was but I think he was older
...I'm not sure he had any immediate family/I cant recall if his brother is still alive but he lost his mum not so long ago which was very hard for him...the person he was closest to on here was always Sooty..she was his constant/his calm waters...he always listened to her even though he always did it his way because that was Ian...
..I don't think there is a song I could give him that he would think more appropriate...Rest in Peace now, Ian.....

He was one of the nicest people to me on here when I was really bad and he had to deal with some trollish behaviour in 2010, I and this Forum will miss his presence very much.

The forum has changed a lot these past few years.Yep the same here. I got on well with Ian and Kerry. I have always being a bit of an outsider and not part of the in-crowd on here (I wouldn't have it any other way) They always welcomed me for that and made me feel more at home here.
Kerry always kept me in line for my own sake and Ian was always in it for the mischief Which i liked about him there was no malice just on a wind up for his own amusement. :joker:
The forum has changed a lot.

Never got on with him at all and would always end up arguing but real life is a lot more important than what happens on a forum.. Hopefully his family/friends are ok

I didn't know he was quite close to Sooty, but knew Sooty was close to Mids, and when Mids passed on a couple of years back now, Ian was there with a thread to let us know, he also mentioned in the thread I believe, that he had been to visit Mids grave. I always thought he was a lovely man, who gave strong opinions, maybe a bit strong for some. I loved when he posted but always waited to see how long the inevitable ban would take. I sorely miss him from TIBBs, and was very sad to learn of his passing :(
I would love to see those who passed that we know of have their last avatars added to the opening posts, so to jolt the memory of some who may have trouble recalling who the posters were.

Yes he did like Pyramid Suze ,I used to talk to him about her and he told me he had been to her resting place,he also posted in the group I made on here for Pyramid, who as you rightly say was close to Sooty and Ian,sad losses both Ian and Pyramid.

Tbh I hope that we all do before we pass away, we don't want to be entities that won't be remembered for anything because we did nothing with our lives.

Does anyone know how his family is getting on? I don't mean to pry.
