Tilery is actually in Norton, STOCKTON-on-Tees is made up of many parishes.
The local MP is no fool, he is my MP, he js fully aware that when people see
Benefit street it paints the whole area in the same light.

Personally I say bring it on, used to be some right nutters lived in Tilery, will be interesting to see if it has changed any over the last couple of generations of benefit scroungers, or not as the case may be. I would love to think that by regenerating the estate over the years it has improved the situation.

Says a lot that the MP has been there for 4 years yet during the program was the first time he's ever even walked down the street, the residents never even knew who he was.

I don't watch these programmes, most of it is very selective and a lot of playing up to the cameras too.
Especially when on Channel 4.

Thought they were all pretty tame last night..I doubt that it will stay like that for long:laugh:

As for Alex not visiting the estate, he would probably be wasting his time, if they have no idea who their local candidate is they are not interested.
Without the film crew he would probably have been jeered off Kingston Road.

This show is vile, I really don't understand how anyone can find it enjoyable to see people in such poverty and despair.
