View Full Version : When are the young 'uns doing their exams?!

I'm older than a fair few housemates this year (god forbid) and I noticed a lot of them saying "I'm in my second year of a Law degree" or "I study Biomedical Sciences at a proper good uni me" etc.
Exam season for most universities (at least those I know of) start in the next week or two, and the exams aren't exactly optional, I highly doubt they'd accept "I'm on Big Bruv m'lord" as an exceptional circumstance. And from the sounds of it, I doubt the student HMs are wanting to throw away their futures as Brain Surgeons/Chief Justices/Prime Minister/Lord Admiral of the Fleet.
BB11's Andrew had to come in late to sit a maths paper if I remember correctly.
So what the hell are they going to do? Sit them in the task room? Sneakily leave the house? Is University College London really just going to let Christian delay his exams for Big Brother?

Adjoa said she was missing her exams for BB didn't she?

Yes, that did sound odd.
In my eyes,
Education >>>> Big Brother

Adjoa made it sound like she's just skipping her exams for BB so will resit or something in the future.

Insanity! I'm at least waiting until my work experience year to apply, just common decency.

Well it's her own education/fees/qualifications so she's only affecting herself.

Jenny in BB7 too.
I've not a clue how they are getting away with it. Adjoa said on the live feed that she was missing her exams.
The only way my uni allows you to postpone exams is if it's a medical emergency. Only way to resist is to fail the exam, and then if you do resist you're capped at 40%. So it all sounds very odd. The land must lie very differently at Adjoa's uni. Same with Cristian... Not sure how he's managed to get around it.

It depends on the course. Mine for example was all coursework based, and I was allowed to hand it in as early as 2 weeks before the early May hand in, so if it's the same for them, they would handed it in BEFORE. And that was for my dissertation!

Same with Joel, who is apparently the President of the SU! Setting a bad example, sure the uni won't be happy with that.
Wouldn't they just resit in September?
