If you would rather not view the signatures under other users' posts we have added an option in your control panel to not view them.
You may want to use this option if you have a dial-up Internet connection, or find the banners distracting.
To stop viewing other peoples' sigs follow these steps:
click on Control Panel / Options (top-right of screen),
then click Edit Profile
scroll down to View signatures in threads? and select no
and then click the Edit Profile button at the bottom.

It's only for those users that find it a pain. We do still have people on dial-up and they are finding it a nuisance to download all the signatures and the banners.
Now they have a choice.

You've got too many lines of text in your sig now Simon...
No more than 2 banners (550px x 150px) and five lines of text (including blank lines).

This is a great addition, thanks, as much as the sigs are nice to look at sometimes they can be a bit distracting, so its good to have a choice.

It's a good addition, since I can understand it being a pain for some.
But I love viewing them.

but now guests can not view people's banners! I dont think thats a very good idea
Guests have to view all signatures, and the banners in them.
Members now have a choice whether to view them or not. By default they have to, but this can be changed in User Control Panel.

I've changed it now so that guests always see signatures again.
I'm on Broadband and certain members' banners still make my PC freeze for about 5 seconds. :conf:

Oh dear.. some of them are rather large though. Are you going to change your options so that you can't see them? I was considering it anyway, just for convenience.
