I don't care what anyone says
I loved the twist
It was a brilliant opportunity to allow the housemates to show their true colours
The stakes are higher
BBie more ruthless
Even the house feels more channel 4
The entire series is starting to feel very classic
Love it
Daniel.

No.
It feels like the complete opposite.

Agree with you there ellie
I agree. I don't get the reaction to this twist when we've seen countless little twists like this before.
I agree, I'm personally enjoying it so much, it feels so fresh and fun compared to bb15.

This really, it's not really any different from what we've seen before.
It's been great so far imo. :flutter:

I personally think it was really good, some people will never be pleased.

I agree. I don't get the reaction to this twist when we've seen countless little twists like this before.
It was ultimately pointless and underwhelming, but that's all. It didn't make me angry or anything, because it didn't change anything. It just left me feeling "Oh, okay". Twists that have huge negative effects are much worse (BB13's White Room and BB15's finale pass spring to mind).
Of course, I'd like any future "timebombs" to actually be more exciting, but I can deal with this one.
As a whole, I'm enjoying this series a lot so far. I just hope they don't meddle too much and kill it.

I'm liking it so far but not a patch on channel 4

I was in agreement up until tonight. A thoroughly underwhelming twist and face to face nominations. It felt exactly like Channel 5 to me. I do like the housemates and highlights shows so far though so hopefully they continue in the same direction and BB doesn't try to manipulate too much in the coming weeks.

Yeah I agree it feels like classic Big Brother
I wasn't a fan of the twist (just because Jack stayed) although the twist itself was good and an interesting one

I made a thread about this earlier, and I agree.
I think they've learned from their mistakes of BB15/CBB15.
I mean they still thrive of twists, but they've stopped meddling and the last four days have been very calm and natural.
Even 4 days in BB15/CBB15 there were arguments and divides forming.
Even the mini arguments are natural which have taken place so far, and they seem to make up afterwards.
If BB16 carries on like this, I can see it replacing BB13 as my favourite C5 series.
Sometimes less is more.
The ratings are horrendous though.
But, TBH it's C5 BB, and it's been renewed for another three years, plus I doubt BB will ever get 2M.
So, as long as it stays above 1.5m, it's great in my eyes.

I've been enjoying it so far (apart from tonight's twist), but I'm not really getting a C4 vibe from it. It still feels like a C5 series to me, which is fine.

I thought so until tonight's shenanigans.

Taking the prize fund down to zero was a stupid idea although they would have given the housemates the chance to earn it back later down the line.

This.
In some way I'm happy the twist ended up such an anti-climax, keeping the harsh unnatural drama out of this house - giving them a chance to blossom and show their true colors (for better and for worst) just by sharing the same house. Heres for friendships and rivals forming naturally!

It's not often we agree but we do here, I was going to make a thread on this too at some point
Very C4 esque cast, the house on camera feels very C4 as well even though it's not a huge layout change and the execution of the twist tonight felt less tacky than it usually is on C5 and also their reactions (especially Harriet and Jack being visibly nervous) reminded me of the old days when Big Brother could do that as well
Loving it so far :clap1:

the twist was good but instead of the car they should have just offered him 1/3 of the prize fund
that way the winner would still get the 100k (which is the usual amount anyway) and we would have got rid of jack

Didnt like the twist but production has got a lot better.
Jason.

I love how they do the twists in the garden.
Gives me BB7 vibes when all the housemates were sat outside and Aisleyne had to pick a ball to determine which Golden Housemate would enter.
And the legendary Get Grace out Chants!
Jason.

Come to think of it that twist wasn't really a twist.
It didn't affect the house dynamics at all. I'm glad in a way, as I love the atmosphere that's currently present in the house and I don't want it to change.

It beats BB15 as a whole series, in just four days.
It's also a breath of fresh air from the three conflict dominated series we've had over the last year. BB15, CBB14, CBB15.

I am enjoying this series. A great mix of characters and it's so lovely not to have continual conflict for a change. I am sure it will come but it's refreshing to have some fun as well. I am hoping that will be the case this series. It's just a shame that the ratings, so far, are suffering. People only seem to want to tune in when people are continually yelling at each other unfortunately.

Is it only getting a good response because it isn't BB15 though? I agree with you that it's nice to not have constant conflict, but I'd rather to who fancies who, and constant sex innuendo.
Tbh I want a series like CBB13 again that had conflict, fun, bitching, crude jokes, and the appalling showmances.

It's only Day 4, give it at least, till after the first eviction.
I can't imagine a Civilian equivalent of CBB13. That would be great though.

His the biggest character of this series, but I'm getting fed up with him too, and that crying fit tonight was awful, nearly as bad as Harriet's.

I do agree with you that she dominated with an iron fist in sequel weeks.

Some parts remind me of old BB and some parts are still very "Channel 5"

The twist was tacky though that's what's putting people off, it's like an desperate attempt from the producers to shock. So far this is nothing like a c4 series, at least not production wise.
Jason.

I get what you mean in a way, the cast is more Channel 4-esq and the feeling of the series is quite good.
But the Channel 5 over-produced try-hardiness is still there.

I don't mind all of that, TBH.
I'm just glad the feel of the show isn't as tacky as it was in 2011-2012.

"true colours" my arse I would have accepted the £27,000 car what would that say about me Im greedy and selfish? Or I grasped a great opportunity? BB decides the prize fund not a housemate it would have never stayed at 0 because majority of the housemates would walk out by the end.

The series is a lot more toned down to previous series on C5. They have a great cast and a great house. Marcus is less annoying than he normally is but I fear that won't last as the series goes on.
The twist tonight was utter rubbish mainly because it failed to have the desired effect which means it wasn't thought through properly. They panicked which was where Nick came in with his face to face nominations.
There's only so many ways to create shock value with these twists. Tonight's was just a rehashed version of Eugene taking half the prize money in BB6.

Im really enjoying this series so ....far, it does my remind me of C4 days ie possibly BB10 & BB11 I get that vibe from these HM's.
That twist reminded me of BB8. For some reason.
Did anyone else have that vibe?
I thought that too tbh. I thought the twist would be something similar to BB8 Week 3 when the nominees had to choose one other HM to give the 'prize fund' to.

OMFG, yes that.
And how Tracey was offered a car in a task, to show she wasn't selfish.
