I guess that's why the OP said 'still'...

These kind of montages and fast editing of short scenes are core to the problems of modern BB tbh and deserve discussion I think.

At least they've calmed down with the editing a bit from a few years ago.

They should still remove the music montages though, makes Big Brother look very tacky.

This is true, it was god awful for a while. It is still too harsh to let us get a context and understand the flow of a situation though.

I hate them too but atleast on the highlights there is no blatant biased edit yet.

They've been used since CBB7, which was back in 2010. On Channel 4.

I hope this isn't a moan at Channel 5, when Channel 4 were the ones who introduced them in the first place.

Come to think of it, the montages this series are not as bad as they were in BB11, and the first few years on Channel 5.

They've really toned down on them. Back in 2012, a whole song would be played just to show the housemates getting out of bed. Now, it's just one line from a song, and then the montage is over.

They've toned down on montages ever since CBB15, I've noticed.

The one redeeming feature about BB (which has always been a tacky show) was that it had great design and a cold detached style about it which fed into the 'no contact from the outside world' premise. I think I miss that more than live feed tbh.

all reality shows are like this now though, I think that they are just trying to keep up with the times.

Yeah, Channel 5 were just copying Channel 4 simply based on the final series, which only used editing because it was the final series. They probably haven't watched any of the other series tbh.

I think it's just because Big Brother is supposed to be unique and different to shows like TOWIE and GS. It never was really referred to as a "reality show" until BB6/BB7. It's main premise is that it's a social experiment, and currently we're not seeing any results.
