BBCAN3 had a whole bunch of great ceremonies. The twists added some excitement too but it did lack in drama most of the time.

I definitely think it's better than the last two US seasons personally.

14 is extremely underrated. Chef Joe, Ashley, Wil, Ian were all likable and fairly unique interesting personalities, while Dan, Britney, Frank, Crazy Danielle, JoJo, and Willie all brought the tension that a season needs without making it uncomfortable.

Even Shane, Jenn, Mike, and Janelle had some good storylines. Just to name a few:
-Shane v Frank (which def did get boring, but really when you look back and realize that neither of them won, its kinda funny)
-Shane getting blindsided at F4 after volunteering to be up.
-Jenn flipping out at whomever that was during one of the double evictions.
-Mike and Janelle for those 2 weeks was pretty interesting as a backstory too, when they probs could have run the house with the other coaches to the end (which idc what anyone says would have been 10x worse than Rachel falling ass backwards into the victory that America wanted for her only a year after she was hated by like 99% of the viewing population)

And I'm not gonna say Kara and Jodi were useless when we didn't get enough time to figure either of them out.

But yes 12 and 16 were awful. 14 was set up to follow the same path that those two seasons did, with a strong alliance controlling the game from the beginning, but I guess we can thank Dan for flipping that on its head and then losing to Ian.

I LOVED Britney during BB12 and was really excited for her to come back for BB14, but after seeing her on the feeds and I guess growing older and wiser I realized that the things she said about Rachel were not funny or acceptable. Obviously Rachel is a giant piece of **** in just about every way, but Britney didn't attack her for her awful personality or her strategy, she slut-shamed her because she's a misogynistic bully: "STDs have gone airborne" "I don't hang out with *****s just for fun" etc etc. I feel gross for ever laughing at that ****.

Sorry guys, the saving grace of BB12 and BB14 (*giggles*) is not surviving, like I'm not lettin dis bitch get away. BB12 was one of my first seasons of BB I watched and I was always all about that Slothy/Rachel life and no one else. So I honestly have no reservations putting her this low. I rly rly don't. I'm not rly sure why she's so so loved, but as I am a kind and understanding person, I'm going to try to get inside the mind of a Britney fan and give her a write up from that perspective so I can meet people halfway.

12 was perfectly fine due to the Brigade and even had stuff for people who didn't like gameplay with classics like Britney, Rachel and Ragan. 14 was epic thanks to Dan. 16 the same thanks to Derrick.

Meanwhile 13 gets spared and 15 which was easily the worst season ever is liked by Macie. Well, probably not liked because I haven't seen her/him leave a nice comment about anyone or anything.

13 was decent enough but the rigging for production pets Jeff and Jordan kinda ruins the season. The final 6 Pandora Box twist is still the most blatant rigging and it just makes Rachel's win very bitter; no denying she was a good at competitions and she did seem to calm down towards the end of 13 and was not acting up to the cameras, but then again Jordan SHOULD have gone at final 6 which means very likely Rachel would have gone at final 4 because if Porsche still won POV she would have evicted Rachel not Jordan.

15 had some good arguments and drama and some decent players. Amanda and Andy were actually decent players, the downfall is that them two and majority of the housemates were vile disgusting people which makes the season very hard to watch. Another problem with the season was lack of power struggle, the same people got HOH every week which made it boring.

14 again was decent, but the rigging to keep Frank in was just disgusting. He was not at all likeable but for some reason production wanted to keep him in; telling people to keep him in week 1 and of course my favourite cancelling a whole eviction that stop us from seeing his blindside in week 3 :shrug:

16 on the other hand lack any sort of drama or tension. It was predictable, everyone knew week 1 that Derrick was going to win so it kinda made the season boring. The cast was not as disgusting as 15 but they were not great either. I think overall the season lacked a power struggle, it was the same alliance dominating all season, and even the one week when Donny and Nicole won HOH they screwed up by doing the dominate alliance. Sure Derrick played a great game, some might say best game, but the season was overall boring.

Hopefully 17 has a power struggle and none of this playing with the house crap. A group of entertaining houseguests that cause drama and arguments without taking it too far, and no production influence. Also hopefully no twist, the reason season 10 was probably the last decent US season was because of the cast and because they had little to no twists.

There are a lot of points that need to be addressed but instead of quoting every post I'll just go by season.

BB12: Awful. It's easy to look back and retroactively say it wasn't so bad because somehow BB14 and 16 have manage to be even worse, but this ****w as virtually unwatchable. The Brigade were awful and BORING and ruined the season (Matt brought nothing other than self-congratulatory DRs and fell short because of his own ****ty gameplay, Enzo is tedious and repulsive, Lane is an actual rapist, and Hayden is just a generic str8 white male), Britney isn't nearly as funny as her fans make her out to be and she was a huge reason as to why the season was so awful, Ragan is a nuisance who cheers on drama in the DR but kills it in person (also he claims that the only reason people could possibly hate Andy in BB15 is homophobia, which is laughable), etc. The cast was filled with flat and repetitive characters, there weren't any memorable moments, and the gameplay was ****ing stagnant and predictable. Not even Rachel Reilly's shining star or Kathy Hillis's hilarious UTR journey could salvage this season.

BB13: The rigging was out of control but there was still a lot of good in this season! The Babysitters Club (Daniele/Kalia/Porsche) is one of my favorite groupings ever, and Daniele flipping on the vets set the tone for a gr8 power struggle. Yes of course Jeff and Jordan and Adam were awful, and Rachel's win is tainted by her affiliation with Jordeff and Grodner, but this season had epic highs and lows and actual human drama. Contemporary BBUS is defined by str8 white males trying to steamroll their way to the end and everyone trying to desperately vote with the house and not get blood on their hands, but BB13 was anything but. It's also worth noting that Jeff's eviction is one of the best episodes ever.

BB14: I already went on about this season before in this thread, but it's just awful and hateable. The season was defined by the rivalry between Dan and Frank, but Frank is awful and boring and smells bad and Dan is a legitimate crazy person and everything about him in BB14 was so ridiculously contrived that you could see the wheels turning in his head as he tried to calculate just how much of an impact his next ~big move~ would create. Thankfully Ian swept in to save the day and be the default winner (Dan's fanboys can attribute this to a bitter jury even though Dan's treatment of pretty much every juror is textbook on what not to do to manage a jury of your peers), except for the fact that Ian ****ing sucks too. It's also worth mentioning that Britney was a laughable choice as a coach, Boogie was still as repulsive as ever, and then for the newbies... what is a Kara, a Wil, a Jenn, a Shane, etc? All hilariously bad casting choices and they all lack any sort of charisma whatsoever. Yes, things did happen this season, but they all involved people who were duller than dish water or are genuinely repulsive human beings. BB12 and 16 are certainly more boring, but BB14 is hateable.

BB15: Yes, the racism was horrifying. Yes, all the other criticisms that people have applied do hold true. HOWEVER, the first half of the season was legitimately exciting. The Nick vote worked out beautifully and it was amazing to see Jeremy and Kaitlin follow. Everything involving Aaryn and Amanda and everyone else was without a doubt awful, but the night of the bed flip was a hugely compelling night to watch on the feeds. Candice and Jessie and Elissa were the holy trifecta and were robbed of doing well, but they're the true winners of the season considering they're three of the only people who didn't get their lives ruined as a result of their appalling behavior. The second half of the season is completely awful with Aaryn turning into a boring gamebot and the 3AM alliance **** and everything else, but I'll take this any day over BB12, 14, and 16.

BB16: We all just lived through this season so I don't think I need to get into why it's so atrocious. Derrick's win was predictable from literally as soon as he walked through the door, Battle of the Block was a terrible twist that was boring time-consuming and season-ruining, pretty much everyone in the Bomb Squad and the Detonators were repulsive human beings, Frankie Grande existed, etc. The fact that this **** got extended to thirteen weeks and forty episodes was extremely offensive, especially when you consider that the last four weeks of episodes were filled with **** like the Rewind Week and the Jordeff engagement party. There was literally ONE exciting week, and it was Devin's HoH back in Week 2. Every other week was a huge chore to get through.

So yeah, BBUS has been awful as a whole ever since Grodner took over, but if I had to rank the last five seasons it would be 13 >>> 15 >>>>>>>>> 12 > 16 > 14.

Derrick's win was predictable from literally as soon as he walked through the door, Battle of the Block was a terrible twist that was boring time-consuming and season-ruining, pretty much everyone in the Bomb Squad and the Detonators were repulsive human beings, Frankie Grande existed, etc. The fact that this **** got extended to thirteen weeks and forty episodes was extremely offensive, especially when you consider that the last four weeks of episodes were filled with **** like the Rewind Week and the Jordeff engagement party. There was literally ONE exciting week, and it was Devin's HoH back in Week 2. Every other week was a huge chore to get through.

So yeah, BBUS has been awful as a whole ever since Grodner took over, but if I had to rank the last five seasons it would be 13 >>> 15 >>>>>>>>> 12 > 16 > 14.
I agree with most of this. However, I've seen the feeds from Aaryn vs Candice and it is one of most painful and saddening things I have seen especially Howard and Candice's talk in the have not room.

Your post about BB13, BB15 and BB16 is spot on but you hate on BB12 too much, it slays

OMG, that would be amazing if BBUS has a remodeled house (obviously keeping the HD cameras). I hope that sometime soon that BBUS would have a House Calls/BBCAN Side Show-like spinoff that could air on The CW.
