My daughter was involved in an accident ( she's ok but achy and shook up) last week, the police are saying they can't get a look at the reg no of the van that hit her on the fast lane of the M62, he said he'd pull over at the next turn off but didn't... should she request more footage from further along?

Sorry to hear that Kizzy, I've been hit and the driver took off, even though I had his reg, the police were useless, I had to turn up at the police station with all my details and a drawing of the accident :umm2: which I think they filed in the bin, they never tracked the guy down

Oh no... even with the reg no! how is that possible? :( Were you and the car ok?
Her car is written off her boyfriend has torn muscles but she can't claim as she won't be able to afford her insurance next year :/

Shocking Cherie :( No Annie nothing there was no time to register anything, he said he would go wait at the next junction but when her car had limped there it was nowhere in sight...

Ah right thanks yes she does the box thing in her car recorded the exact location, it's the police saying they can't get a close up of the plate that's the issue it seems with regard to the M62. He was thought to have come off at junction 23 which is a roundabout so you would have thought there would be a better chance there, it's worth a shot thanks.

Try requesting footage from before the accident happened too, they may get something clearer there

This attitude from the police is a disgrace. I'd wager that they'd soon get a close up if that car had run over a cop.

Anyway God Speed your daughter's recovery.
