Smoking is worse for your health than obesity. It costs the NHS more than obesity.
Jack/Pie face is being ridiculed for his reaction to not having any food when obesity is actually an addiction/health problem - (he needs help with it and may sort it out later on in his life)
However his reaction is no worse than what the smokers would be?
Smoking is not necessary to health/survival and is therefore a luxury. Also lethal for a persons health.
So why have the smokers not had their cigarettes taken away/ or at least RATIONED?

Aren't they still on the cigs they brought in with them? I assumed they were...
Also I don't see why Jack is being ridiculed for moaning about food tbh, Harriet is the same but just because shes not fat, noone cares. Its as if fat people aren't allowed to be hungry or something :umm2:

Yeah - but not only this, the physical symptoms from not eating will be causing Jack a lot more physical pain and people are not educated about this. Its very unfair.

I don't know - but they don't have hair straighteners etc - don't they bring those in?

They are eating though..its not like they are being starved. Mind what Joel was saying yesterday made me think a bit, I don't like rice (unless its from the chinese and of chicken fried variety :D) nor chickpeas so I would be living on bread as I'm sure on rations its only weetabix they get for cereal..which I also don't like.
Anyway, jack reckons its not about the food, its about jades reaction  Yeah..k. I would be near suicidal tbh if I was living on bread and there was a giant plate of KFC infront of me. Stuff the punishment, I would eat it all and enjoy it

I wish I had auditioned years ago, I have 2 young kids now and couldn't face leaving them for (potentially, though unlikely) weeks on end

You're too kind. Helen never seems to look after her own son.

I'm sure if you were really hungry, rice and chick peas would suddenly become very tasty. On a nutrition point the combination of rice and lentils provides you with all you need for a balanced daily diet.

I don't like rice either really, the odd time in a Chinese meal but I rarely eat it by choice, I don't like chick peas either.
No way could I just be eating cereal, I think Joel had some good points there.
It is all well and good providing food but it should be food people'will' and 'want' to eat too.
Also if they took cigarettes off those who wanted them they would likely get people walking out.

yeh i could eat rice and chickpeas. i just watched the island. they were given rice after they got off the island, they were loving it.
these annoying 'but i don't like it' people (JOEL) have to put up with it. food is there to eat, it's not everyone elses problem if you're not going to eat the food on offer

Nah. I mean, maybe if I was totally starved for weeks and weeks, but I have been completely skint before and literally had no food in besides noodles and stuff (which I don't like) and I lived on water until I got the mess sorted out  Being hungry doesn't even bother you after the first day.

Hmm...maybe his probolem really was about the reaction rather than the actual food

They don't have things taken away. They just don't get provided with more. They're still coping with what they've taken in with them. Once those are gone then they'll need to purchase them on the shopping budget which is where all the arguments will stem.
Also, Jack's eating is an addiction, well so is smoking?
And I don't think BB rations things in the house based on what costs the NHS more. You're merging one hundred and one different debates into one.

If they take away the ciggies it will make dramz too so they should do it. :clap1:

It's amazing how picky people in the house are about food. They should have grown up poor in the fifties, where there were two choices 'Eat it or go hungry'.
I think the reason they don't take ciggies away is because they would probably have a mass walk out.

I think I could make do with the chickpeas and rice but I wouldn't be too happy about it. I think on an older series I heard a housemate mention they still had spices so could make a chickpea/vegetarian curry, that might be nice. They don't even have eggs though, that's harsh! Are they allowed tea/coffee when on basic rations? I would miss my cup of tea with sugar.
I think if a person gets to the final audition stages in BB, it might be a good idea for them to practice a few things that could give them the edge in the house if they do get chosen as a housemate. Things such as living off chickpeas, rice and cereal for a couple of weeks beforehand, experiment with recipes into how to make these plain ingredients into somewhat tastier meals. Learn how to bake bread. Practice taking cold showers for a week or so. These would all be an advantage to have up your sleeve in the house.

Here for Nadia style meltdowns, but Channel 5 never seem to think that taking away simple things would be more effective for drama
