Deadly serious, 1,000% way to get to sleep:

Lie down on your back on the bed in a dark, quiet bedroom. Shuffle around until you are comfortable. When you are, focus your eyes backwards - towards your forehead, so there is a slight ever so gentle strain on them. Stay like that.

Now imagine that all parts of your body are like workshops shutting down for the night.

Start at your toes and visualise all the workers shutting down, turning off the lights and leaving - slowly making their way to the pit of your stomach. Do this with your feet, legs, thighs, and repeat this with your fingers, hands, arms and your head, neck and shoulders and chest - ALL parts of your body - with all the workers leaving and gathering in the pit of your stomach.

You will DROP ASLEEP - and if you are really lucky - you will 'Astral Travel', though the first few times you will probably have no other sensation or memory than your 'Silver Cord' eventually reeling you back to your body (hence the worldwide dreams of flying and falling throughout history) and you may awake with a serious sense of 'lost time'.

It might sound 'nuts' (LT will think so :hehe:) but TRY it. Practice it. You'll see.

4-7-8 breathing technique. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, hold it for 7, exhale from your mouth for 8. This slows down your heart rate significantly and is also good for meditation~

on a serious note I use sound effects to fall asleep.

I have various apps and I customise my own, I usually revert to the one I made Under The African Storm (sounds of a camp fire, african insects in the plains, distant thunder and rain on a tent).

I used to use a similar African music/sounds tape Ben which DID get me to sleep, but I always used to wake up covered in mosquito bites.

Surf the internet, eat, watch certain "thing" or play video games.

Drinking banana yogurt also helps you sleep, i have noticed.

I wouldn't attempt to meditate in bed. Those audio books are good, you could have an autobiography playing softly in earphones till you drift off.

when i was younger i used to kicked my legs up in the air and hit my head on the pillow until i fell asleep :umm2: it sounds stupid but i used to find such comfort in it

sometimes when i really can't sleep i find myself doing it, or i rock myself side to side

i also do it in my sleep sometimes apparently

I don't have any techniques but I try and focus on dreaming. So, I'll try and focus on stories/situations playing out in my mind. Once they start to get incoherent and impossible, I'm close to sleeping. I can't control them though, but it's how I know I'm close to sleeping.

I read before I sleep every night. So once I put the book down, I've usually no hassle drifting off to dreamland.

:joker: It's merely one of many techniques of 'Astral Travelling' Conzors - something LT will deny with a 'Braveheart' fervor, but practiced for thousands of years by millions of people.

Nothing freaky about it. It totally relaxes body and mind, and WILL let you get to sleep.
