Whats wrong with the BB men?
Once again we seem to have a bland bunch. Ok they all seem nice enough, but there not providing much for us all to talk about. The only 2 with potential are
Cristian, with what ever it is hes doing that upsets people, and Joel with his liking for womens clothes. For some reason were not being shown much of them.

Last year was pretty much the same, the only one who stood out (and for all the wrong reasons) was Stephen. Didnt like him but at least I can remember his name. Where are the Sciences, Maxwells & Petes, and Craigs. You dont have to like them to remember them.

Wish this lot would grow a pair, and stand up to twins, Sarah, Jade, Harriet etc.
May not like all the girls but at least there doing something for us to talk about on the forums

Well I think alot of it is to do with how they choose the women in the last few years, it's all strong, confident, feisty women which maybe out play the men and steal the camera time/story lines?

they are all too young so have not yet worked out that women are a devious and untrustworthy bunch :nono:

so they still are just thinking about their cocks 24/7

they needed a couple of jaded, cynical, round the block 40 something men to tell it straight

They are usually so boring, BB15 actually had the worst male cast.

Aaron is the only entertaining male tbh but he'll be gone soon :(

I disagree, the men are always the strongest of the bunch. They always pick desperate and bitchy women, but throw a few interesting men into the bunch. I'm surprised at all the comments on this forum about how the guys are boring but the women are 'strong' and 'feisty'. I really don't see that at all. Being a psycho aggressive bitch is not strong or feisty in my eyes. It's desperate and boring.

Mr Fibble, these men are wetter than a weekend in Scunthorpe. All the alphas for the last 3 series have been female, take last year Ashleigh leader of Chris, Christmas , Helen leader of Ash, Winston, Marlon, Mark and Pav. Cristian and Danny are perennial crybabies, and as much as I like Kieran, he got owned by a 51 year old woman. Don't get me started on Nick, Joel, Aaron and Jack. The fact is women are the MVPS, the leaders, the risk takers the verbal pugilists eg Harriet. When Harriet is attacked she verbally punches you, when Cristian is attacked he brings out the tears and thanks God. Wuss. Sadly wuss males can win just by virtue of having a penis. In reality Chloe is less dreary than Danny but teenie think he "iz fit,* knoewhatimean"

It's female-oriented programming. The males are just Ken dolls there to flesh out female storylines for the most part.

They're limp wristed and wet. They have no presence about them at all and are treated like little brothers by the girls. Terrible.

I pretty much agree with this. The bigger more dominating characters these past few years on C5 have all been women. Think of C5 housemates that instantly crop up in mind and not very many of them are men. (Helen, Gina, Deana, Caroline, Ashleigh, Dexter, Aaron)

This year most of them are a but blander than the women but I don't mind I usually find female housemates more entertaining anyway.

Christian and Joel are the youngest there, but so far they have been the most mature and they're the least bitchy.

Yeh they are my 2 favourite males, they are likeable and have the occassional moment, but would like them more if they occassionly stepped up to the plate,so to speak.

Ashleigh was one of the few strong females, Helen wasn't; she's just a psycho crazy bitch who is overly controlling, but she was desperate for attention (negative or otherwise) and constantly required people to boost her up. That is not a strong personality. As I stated, being loud and aggressive are not strong personality traits; those are signs of weak people. It's the quieter, more laid back ones who are stronger. And they are more interesting and entertaining to me as well. I would take a group of men just chilling and talking, over screaming women having pissing contests any day.

Danny is the most pathetic male in there, he has no personality and looks like a creeper. None of the women this year seem to have any personality though. Harriet seemed interesting at the beginning, but she seems as psycho as the rest of them.

Being a miserable **** is not entertaining to me and I'm glad that you're backing me up on this as I feel like I'm alone when people will hype any girl for the sake of it.

They are 1. Too sterotypical in being a bad rep for gay community (yet again thanks C5!) (aaron) 2. False ego (Christian) 3. dumb young living off mum (the 2 young boys) Kieeran is ok but he is boring as a person it seems & Jack is just the worst example of a british person who has no dignity to change a simple aspect which would help him & probably his loved ones seeming as after a while its no wonder he is called pieface its to degrade him to change for the better (because when your fat you can change but you cant for race & sexuality) & thats why jack angers me more than aaron coming from a gay who hates the stereotypical chi chi man

The girls have Sarah, Chloe, and the Twins.

None of them three are even remotely entertaining. (despite Chloe being likable)

The guys have Joel, Cristian, Aaron, Kieran, Jack, and Nick.

All of them have had their moments of fun, highs, and lows, that imo makes them more entertaining Housemates.

Trouble is most these "men" are playing "follow the leader" (just so happens they're women) thinking it best.

Even Mr Independent Cristian who stood up to Sarah in the kitchen suddenly backed down in the bedroom.

But if you look at other incidents, Joel has stood up to Sarah and Danny stood up to Harriet.

So it proves it's all there.
Mark my words once the cosy house hierachy changes, so will the HMs.

But what you also need is more like Joel who (maybe) aren't too afraid of being unpopular, speaking their mind or being in a minority.

I think they all need some sort of wake up call.
Jack especially is all too comfy thinking the public like him while he leads the other group.
Take out Chloe, twins, Eileen, Aaron etc he'll come out swinging again as his imaginary alliances start disappearing.

 at some of you defending the guys this year as "strong"

They're either stupid (Danny), weak (Nick, Joel, Jack) or just weird (Cristian). The fact Kieran is the closest thing you have to a dominant male tells you everything.

I don't think the men are necessarily strong, just stronger than the women. Not enough has happened for me to read most of the housemates, but all the ones that have already yelled and screamed are the ones that are the weakest in the house - and that's been only women so far (and Jack). I don't care for terms like 'alpha' and 'dominant' because they basically just get given to the most controlling person in the house and don't actually say anything about the person. Most of the men probably don't want to go up against the women in case they appear 'sexist' since any time a man says a word against a woman, he's automatically the bad guy. They probably also don't feel the need to get into pissing contests with women.

Joel is probably the strongest male in there and Sarah the strongest female (I don't think I've seen her chuck a hissy fit yet). They both seem to be able to remain calm and mature even when in unpleasant situations. There's a difference between having a thick skin/being able to stand up for yourself and just being a rude arrogant douche.

In terms of being a strong 'character' in the show, none of the women have any personality - half of them take after Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction and the others don't do anything. Men-wise; Joel is the only one letting his personality show since Nick has been suffocated by the Jade blanket, but is rarely shown. The rest are pointless. Nick is clearly not a 'strong' person, he seems quite awkward and unsure, but I'll take that over psycho arrogance any day. I very rarely give any person the label 'strong', and I wouldn't really say anyone that goes on Big Brother is a strong person. Still, the louder someone is, the weaker and less entertaining they are to me.
