View Full Version : Anyone else annoyed that the producers are not making use of the Timebomb Theme?

All we've had was a Launch Night twist, where someone was evicted on the first night, instead of the first week.

And the Winner Twist, with Jack being crowed the "Winner" in Week 1, and turning down a chance to leave the house with a brand new car.

Since then, we've had these silly "Timebombs" for example, Jade's luxury and Nick nominating face to face, and Jack saving a housemate with one of his passes. How the hell are these related to time?

They really should make use of this theme as it has potential, and so far it's been wasted, just like how Secrets and Lies was wasted.

Why don't they do things that mess with time?
Have nominations during the night, Have evictions early in the morning.
Rewind 1pm in the afternoon to 1am in the morning and make them stay up for 2 days doing tasks on the trot.

They could send the housemates back in time to a different decade. For example, the 80s and make them live like that for a week.
Things like that.

I must say this weeks shopping task, Big Brother 2050 is a step forwards.

I agree with everything you say although Channel 5 have never stuck to the themes. They usually have one or two twists then the rest of the series is just as normal.

They actually stuck to the Power Trip theme throughout the entire series, last year.
But they executed it so badly, that it killed any appeal the series had, which was minimal to begin with.

Agree with you there.

Although they didn't stick with the locked parts of the house at the start of the series. All that stuff disappeared after a week and was never mentioned again even after Emma spoke about it on launch night.

I Agree with the OP

Most of the "bombs" have not been about time at all
Most have just bombed :idc:

Trying to cram twists they have made up, to manipulate the game, under the theme is just annoying at this point

This weeks shopping task is about going in to the future. Last weeks would also have disorientated time with the housemates in The Hole.

They've kept us all updated with the "twist" :spin:

Using the theme = mainly twists = the audience hate it
No twists = not using the theme = the audience hate it

I think they're using an acceptable amount at the moment, we have a full series ahead...

Who said the Timebomb theme needed twists?

They can have time themed shopping tasks.
Nominations late at night, when the housemates are asleep.
Evictions in the morning.
Overnight tasks.

Things like that, which fit well within the theme.
Like Emma said on the advert, "Days will turn into nights, and the house will be flipped upside down".

We've had nothing like that yet.

The Power Trip theme is different compared to Timebomb. Looking back, Power Trip actually needed twists to work, because of the Power.
That's why Power Trip was a crap and pointless theme to begin with, as usual twists always have housemates in power.

I think it's like illegal to not let them know if it's day or night.

That happened in the Taming of the Shrew and it did not end well.

It's only week two, you mentioned possible events that can be spread across the whole series. We need to be patient.

That always happens.
They only add :Theme for the first few weeks as it's still new.

I doubt they will do any of the things I've mentioned.
I'm expecting more nomination twists and secret rooms. Mark my words.
