View Full Version : Why is Big Brother seemingly going down the plughole?

Evicting four housemates and bringing in three new one plus an old 'familiar' one????

And then apparently cutting the series to a few weeks?

What the hell is going on?

Someone at the top is on a suicide mission, surely. Is it because of low viewing figures? I thought they were average this year???

If Nikki does go in tonight I am finished with BB. It's a stupid decision. Always looking back, never forward.

And according to reports the series could end in 3 weeks time.

Anyone know what's going on????:shrug::shrug:

I'm clearly in a small minority who's still really enjoying it.

I would take it all with a pinch of salt at the moment. A lot of hearsay with nothing really to back it up.

I like the analogy of a Kamikaze production team.

I don't think it is going downhill, quite the opposite, I am loving this twist.
Really looking forward to tonight's evictions, we need a few new faces in there to be honest. Just not keen on any old housemate returning.

It is when they're putting in an old boring housemate. And they're cutting the show to a few weeks. Who decided that and why??????

It's going down the drain because of terrible casting choices (resulting from a terrible casting process), and an utter lack of genuine interaction between cast members, who are generally playing character archetypes such as bitch, chav, flamboyant gay, daft person, generic desirable male, etc.

Same. I get some of the criticisms but I'm loving this series so far

As production has not changed from Power Trip and is just as messy

Production decided to ignore all the polls they put online which advised them to stop manipulating the show so blatantly. Casting hasn't helped either as we're stuck with a house full of 20-30 year olds who don't generate that much entertainment, nor do they connect with the wider demographics. To be honest Power Trip had a better cast in its diversity... Jale, Chris and Pauline were older and all seemed like bigger characters to start with... Plus there were about 7-8 housemates from ethnic minorities which gave more diversity. But in my opinion the main reason the show is losing it this year is due to the manipulation and abundance of "twists", with the poor casting just adding to this

I agree the selection process of who goes in as housemates has a lot wrong with it.

For me however, it going downhill because BB interfere too much with endless twists.
That is being done so much and so often now, that for me at any rate, it has now become tedious, really tedious.

The show ended up in a hole during Power Trip and rather than make the changes they needed to make, they've continued on doing the same thing. No live feed, ridiculous twists, stupid tasks etc.

Starting the show in early May when kids are doing their exams and allowing it to clash with BGT have clearly hurt it as well.

Like most concerned fans that think they know better, it's always going to be hard to allow them to run their own show whilst the fans scream and have his say fits. No Likey, no watchy, simples

I don't think it has anything to do with the cast. It's the scheduling. Why they decided to start it so early when students are revising and doing exams and while BGT is on is beyond me. They surely must have known that this was going to hurt ratings. Also releasing the details of the housemates early took away the excitement of the launch show because everyone already knew who was going in.

Whoever made these ludacris decisions is to blame not the housemates. I have enjoyed this series a lot more so far than last years.

So true. I think we would all like changes to the show but we have moved on. I will enjoy it no matter what. I still think it is the best reality show on the Tv. Unfortunately we are at a point where people will moan no matter what they do.
