He deliberately wound up the 3 HMs (animosity acquaintance Jade, alpha rival Danny and fence sitter radar dodger finalist Chloe) then he took them separately to one side and apologised or had an intimate chat, thus snuffing out some of the rancour and hatred head on, and making us viewers see a different side to him.
