Well, back when it aired in 2005/2006. It had one hour of live feed a night at midnight if I remember correctly (due to the Time Difference).
Not sure if that's back, though.

But there's highlight shows nightly.

If there's live feed I would definitely watch this religiously, and stuff like this isn't really my bag

tbh if they stuck a feed on the website and made it really interactive with a chat bar and it was integrated with Twitter and Facebook etc I think it'd be really popular (assuming the show will do well) amongst the target audience and news of what was going on would spread and trend as is what happens when a live feed exists, and it may just show C5 the benefits of implementing something similar

After Channel 5/Endemol turned their back on the live coverage you'd think one of the other channels would fill that void.

TBF, LI doesn't need live feed.

I remember watching bits and bobs of the live feed, back in the day and it was nothing special.

Yes, it was nice to watch a bit of live action. But they were always sunbathing or swimming, If I remember correctly. Although, sometimes there would be arguments.

But it is not like BB, where live feed is fundamental for the format.

Fame Academy had the best live feed (though it finished at midnight). Malachi and Ainslie were hilarious. Ruby Wax was also hilarious on it in her Comic Relief year

In all fairness, looking at what Big Brother has become now a days.
The revamp of LI looks much classier.

Honestly, with BB averaging 0.9m, I can see LI beating them in ratings. Especially as it is the revamp of the show that once got over 3m.

But, I can see the revamp getting lower ratings than the old Love Island, as it is on ITV2, instead of ITV1. Not to mention it's with ordinary people, instead of Celebrities. So people may not be interested.

I'm predicting around 1.5m for LI.

Exactly, I now appreciate BB's casting more, The BB16 cast is so much more diverse compared to love island.

It's quite disgusting that ITV2 have only got people with nice bodies, as for their faces thats a different story.

It's LI, not BB. It's supposed to be like that. I can't imagine a 50 year old spending five weeks in Fiji (or wherever the Island is), trying to find love with a bunch of twenty-somethings.

Plus, since when did ugly people make a cast diverse?

A cast is diverse based on differing personalities, and differing cultures. Not if someone has a six pack or not.

I'm not tuning in to Love Island with high expectations because:

A) It may not be the same sort of show it was back in 2005/2006. Ten years is a long time.

&

B) It's with members of the public instead of Celebrities this time.

But, I look forwards to it either way. Hopefully, I'm wrong and it turns out to be just as good as the original run.
