View Full Version : Are they going too far with nominations?
What do people think? So far there has been a twist each time, Are you happy their mixing things up or do you want straight forward diary room nominations?

We haven't a week without a 'timebomb' yet, I don't think we will..

They can't do normal nominations, otherwise Mark will go.

Would prefer straight forward noms.
I don't mind one or two twists a series although pretty much a twist every week or airing the nominations gets tiresome. The producers think it adds more drama but it simply does not in the long run, housemates come to never expect noms to be private so they create very vague and generalised reasons (Simon's nom for Eileen this week being a key one), so it doesn't make them look too horrific when their nomination inevitability gets aired to the house. Since Big Brother does not push them for real reasons either and lets them get away with these pathetic reasons you're left with a key component of the show which has become obsolete.
It's the reason I'm not watching this season

Yeah, I might tune off after Friday too, if the next few days aren't good.
I'm loosing interest in this series, massively.
Love Island couldn't have started at a better time. Not to mention, I can spend my time re-watching BB5 and CBB3, instead.

I 100% detest all BB has done as to nominations this series, it was bad enough last time in 2014,this however is beyond near all tolerance now.

If I was a housemates I'd feel very cheated right now, the diary room is meant to be a place to speak in private if it's not whats the point in having it. The diary room should be like a 'diary' not a 'let me bite me tongue incase this gets shown which it probably will' room.

I've said it before. I don't mind twists. twists can be fun. but not EVERY WEEK. it's like having christmas every day. why would we have christmas every day? it would just lose all meaning.

It's got to the point where I don't care anymore, like, in BB14 or whatever when they started coming up with more twists I would be quite excited but now i'm a bit 'meh' towards it.

I generally find normal norms boring and don't get the love for them so the twists don't really bother me (especially if they're designed to save the best housemates) but it's just how tacky, embarrassing and downright terrible most of them are that bothers me. Every twist is the 'biggest one ever' that's going to 'rock the house' and the hyperbole just makes me cringe. Even some of the biggest and best twists like the House Next Door weren't described in such ways
Twists used to be exciting, clever ideas implemented sporadically throughout a series and had clearly been planned months in advance. These days they've got no idea what's gonna happen from week to week and that's just shoddy really

Big Brother 6 is the perfect example of twists in a series. Perfectly spaced out, perfectly executed. They were effective but did not drown out the series. And, as Jack said, were clearly planned for, not randomly thought up one Friday afternoon 3 hours before going live.

All twists suck. Normal nominations all the way. Though, I haven't seen the older series so I guess if they were spaced out and planned as mentioned above, they could be nice. But every week.. nominations used to be my favourite part of the show, now I hate it.

Normal nominations were great because they were incredibly revealing of the house politics and thus people were actually held accountable for their actions. Mondays used to actually be exciting and I'd eagerly await the announcement to see how my favorite HMs ended up. And I know you love gameplay and all of that stuff even though it's BBUK, but normal nominations allowed for legitimate gameplay and politicking. Someone like Lisa Wallace wouldn't last a chance today because she only made it to the end because she was able to put in the work to not get nominated <3
Nowadays the twists are just relentless and confusing that there's no drama regarding nominations. There's no point in wasting 25 minutes watching people nominate when anyone with just two nominations will be up, half the nominees will get saved before the lines open due to some convoluted twist, and the final nominees facing eviction don't symbolize anything. What's the point of the actual nomination process if the nominees aren't chosen by house politics? Now you're more likely to be evicted at random than for anything you actually did, and that defeats the whole purpose.

The problem is down to the ongoing twist - Power Trip, Timebomb etc. These need to stop and let Big Brother play out as Big Brother

yeah I really hate how every BB series has to have a subtitle now. Especially when "secrets and lies," "power trip," and "timebomb" are really just three different ways to say the same thing.

Aka messy twist
It's the reason I'm not watching this season
Same here, I tuned out of this show when the swopped nominees and four evictions happened, I read this BB section every so often but that's about it, I can't be bothered with this BB now.
