Yeah, I agree with Pete. Decent but not one of the best.

I don't think I enjoyed much at the time of airing and dipped in and out but it was better than I thought at the time looking back.

Same. I think I found it quiet dull, at the time. But looking back it was a decent series, and narrowly beats BB8, IMO.

Good housemates, good evictions, good tasks, and a good final, and winner.

It's not the best, and nowhere near as good as BB5-7. But it's certainly the best series of the decline years.

Yes.
She was disqualified for being underage. I think she claimed to be 16, when in fact she was really 13. I think there was a controversy surrounding it at the time and the fact that many contestants were underage and had lied about their ages to be on the show.

Funny thing is Davina also presented Popstars. So she knew who Steph was.

Just to bump this thread... BB9 is similar to BB6 IMO in that there are very few likable HMs, but it is entertaining to watch with all the hostility. There are too many bores though.

I think it's roughly on a par with BB8 tbh.

And even if the later weeks are less compelling by comparison, the B Block vs Whisper Club feud that runs throughout the majority of the series is still a great hook imo. Especially with the fact that the Whisper Club were pretty much culled one by one. :hee:

Yeah, Weeks 1-3 were FULL of drama! Possibly one of the best series starts ever. Weeks 4 and 5 slumped, but the House Divide has really reignited my interest, and the way that the B-Block vs Whispher Club thing works with it is compelling. The house dynamics are still changing constantly, so I'm still hooked.

And I can't wait for the surprise double eviction.

Yeah you're right that it was probably more consistently good, BB7 definitely lagged near the end, but I think the high points of BB7 outweigh the bad stuff, and BB9 never really reached those heights for me. I remember at the time loving Sara, and Lisa too. And more than anything, I was just glad that Rex didn't win :laugh:

I liked it at the time, but the house divide story was done better in BB3, BB5, BB6, BB7 and BB13, so yeah pretty much better than every other divide story bar 15 was better.

No interesting or big characters, nothing original, BB3 did rich and poor better, so yeah.

My favourite series (might be biased as it was my first ukbb series.. Have gone back and watched the older ones though from 5 onwards).
Only a few dead weight housemates and minimal dull periods.
Great balance of nice housemates & bitchy housemates and not really any dominating characters like Marc (although that season needed) or Shahbaz... And no super obvious fame *****s like Ryan from the last civvie series.
I don't get the Rex hate really either... He was a miserable git but his influence in the house definitely added to the series... Maybe the most of all that year

It was the first series I really remember watching properly and I loved it. :flutter: I enjoyed Dale and Jenn's showmance and Sara and her gorgeous accent. :love:

I also really liked Nicole despite her getting the highest eviction percentage ever iirc.

IA. BB9 is one of those series where the people you originally rooted for in the early weeks slowly turn out to be just as bad, if not worse than the ones you hated in the earlier weeks (Alexandra, Sylvia, Jen, Bex etc)

I enjoyed Rex at the time but I do understand why some people dislike him. Darnell was awful as was Mo. Kathreya sucked as well and is beyond overrated. I prefer most the WC to those three.

BB9 is one of the more nastier series imo.
