Hello, so like the title says.
Diverse cast, do you think we've got a diverse cast? Or would you say we are lacking diversity.
And do you believe diversity is important?

Personally, I think diversity is a key point when picking the cast, I think in this season we have a few stand out characters who are different to the rest, but I think a few are kind of similar, which is not always bad.

Side question, what do you think is the most diverse cast we've ever had?
I've only watched fully bb9-presant and saw little bits of the older series but I couldn't judge them casts fairly.
I believe BB10 had a lot of diversity, lots of different cultures & BB11 also had a wide variety of housemates who all brought different things.

Box ticking HM's are crap, diversity is great but not for diversity's sake

The characters in BB10 made it a great series, not what race or religion they were

You've misunderstood, I didn't mean the race or religion made it a good selection.
I meant different cultures, as they have a different background and bring in different stories and social experiences.

I get what you mean but I think the way the show is now it's more about entertainment than bringing culture and stories into the house. I'd like it though.

Depends what you mean by diversity. Big Brother used to be about all different kinds of people coming together and letting them all mix and not mix, naturally. Now most of them are all the same kind of narcissistic, self-centered and quite dull people, with the odd exceptions of course.

Exactly, I like a good mix of people, not the same lines "I'm a bitch!" & "I've slept with this many people." getting used in 10/16 VTS. This series has not been as bad as the last couple though in terms of casting.

I'd like a bit more diversity. It's always the same kind of housemates (models, etc.)
I'd like to see people from all different backgrounds/cultures.

Some goth housemates would be nice.

BB6 had the best diversity imo, they got it bang on.

The impression that Channel 5 gives is that they tick off one black man and woman, one gay, one older housemate, one single mother, one posh etc

Same I'm sick of seeing threads 'We should have disabled housemates' 'There should be more black housemates' what's the point if they're not going to offer anything to the show? Fair enough they may do but if not its just making them a token housemate
