The sexism in that comment is against men though. Men are expected to behave badly whilst people have higher expectations for women.

The fact that people have higher expectations for women (which they do) is exactly what's sexist towards women in the first place...

He'd look like a very small man pumping away at a fat guffy.

How is that sexist against women? People think women are better than men and expect them to be so. And frankly, they usually are.

It's sexist against women because women are not "allowed" in society's eye to behave in the way men do. Like Marc said, they do the same thing and he's branded a hero, she's branded a slut. That is the way media sells something like sex in the big brother house. That sucks for women. It's wrong.

It also doesn't stem from people thinking women are better it comes from people expecting women to be virginal and men to be free to explore. It's an archaic mode of thought which puts women down.

Why would they want to lower themselves? And society is just protecting itself from what happens when women do start acting like that.

What sucks for women is the way in which they are pressured into acting like men.

There have never been so many women on anti-depressants since this feminist tripe has been so widely spouted.

But I do enjoy the way a man who refers to women as cumbuckets and told another girl she's going for an STI test (as well as telling her she's fat) is now being applauded for this. All the while Sam is apparently a snake who is playing Marc and Chloe is a two faced cow. If you want to see an example of women being unfairly targeted whilst a man can be celebrated for bad behaviour take a good look at that.

Equality.

We are discussing the hypocrisy of the exact opposite here. Sam would be branded a slut for sleeping with a man in the house where as the man would not. This is women being pressured into having less freedoms than men.

There are also more children on ADD medication and less pirates at sea. Correlation does not imply causation. Also to clarify that I'm reading you wrong. You're not actually arguing against feminism are you?

I never said I admire him for what he's said and have previously posted about how the cumbucket thing and the fat thing were both over the line. I cannot speak for other forum members opinions. I have also no issue with Chloe and think she seems rather sweet though less entertaining than Marc and I don't think Sam is a snake.

Marc is repeatedly being called a vile disgusting human being on this forum. There are plenty of threads started by people who "hate" him. Adjust your lenses, there's no discrimination in that regard. In fact, a quick look at the front page of threads shows them 2 for 2 in negative threads and the further back you go you'll find a lot more negative ones about Marc, especially if you only consider those started since his entering the house.

I think OP is desperate to see his ideology reflected in the program. Marc isn't speaking out against "sexism," he's saying how most people (including himself) perceive a promiscuous woman. He would view himself as the "hero" and her as the slut. This would be obvious to anyone not blinded by religion.

Fantasy.

No it's women being thought of as superior to men and judged more harshly when they therefore lower themselves further than men do.

There are also more children on ADD and less pirates at sea.

A great tragedy. To both.

Modern day feminism. Yes.

Is he wrong? No.

Woman takes her top off, she has no self respect. A man does it, he's eye candy. A woman talks dirty then she's manipulating men as part of a game plan. A man does it, he's a lad.

Double standards. Sexism at its core.

It's pretty damn obvious that what he pointed out was in support of Sam and women in general, saying that they shouldn't do anything cause she'd be looked down upon while he would be lauded. This would be obvious to anyone not blinded by their hatred for Marc.

For the record I'm one of the most anti-religious people on this forum. But nice assumption anyway.

Progressivism is a faith-based, anti-science religion.

Edit: can you explain your response to the statement "men and women are different?" All you've managed is to click on an emoticon.

Political ideologies and philosophies are not religions. Well they might be if you define religion in terms of worshipping of ideas or faith or mass congregations but I don't, so. You've also pinned a political ideology to me based on one post I've made on a Big Brother forum which is not only ludicrous but also quite rude. It's also a deliberate distraction from the response I made to you where I proved you wrong about Marc's meaning behind the statement he made, I notice you never responded to that.

And well...because aside from biological differences (which has no relevance to whether men and women should be treated differently in regard to the subject of this thread) men and women should be treated exactly the same as one another, any beliefs about there being different rules for different genders are merely man made social constructions. And actually gender itself is a social construction meaning any laughable ideas about how women must act differently or more respectfully than men are the product of sexist social codes that aren't inherent or natural and are therefore irrelevant and incorrect.

The bottom line of this all is Marc was defending Sam and women in general by making a comment about how viewers would perceive the two of them differently should they have engaged in any kind of sexual activity. That is true, and he was right to point it out.

The end result still limits what women can do versus what men can.

I thought it was a dreadful thing to say. I hate the word slut. He is ugly as sin and is a vile person inside and out. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Look in the mirror Marc boy before you cast aspersions on to how other people look. I didn't like his phat comment about Chloe either. Nobody is ****ing perfect

Well congratulations on completely misreading what he said. I hate the word 'slut' too and am constantly criticising people on here for using it, and 99% of the time they're using it towards a woman. In fact I can't think of a single time when it hasn't been against a woman. He was pointing out that should he and Sam do anything inside the house, people on the outside would perceive him to be the 'hero' and her to be a 'slut'. Which is true. They would. It's happened before and it would happen again, which is why he was saying they shouldn't do anything for her sake. Honestly, I can't see why this is seemingly so difficult for some people to understand? The intention behind the statement is as clear as anything
