My theory about Simon is that he is suffering from the oedipus complex

In the Oedipus complex, a boy is fixated on his mother and competes with his father for maternal attention. If not outgrown as I think is the case with Simon then parental jealous motivations continue and he would not be able to form a sexual relationship with the opposite sex as they would be seen as competition to his mothers love and so women would be seen as dangerous sirens.

Now we see this played out in his absolute desperation to receive a call from his mother (approval). Now the call itself was interesting in how short it was and how unemotional his mother was towards him No words of affection i.e. love were uttered. Yet Simon almost instantly broke down in tears. The phylogenetic effect of the Oedipus complex would be the cause of much unconscious guilt in Simon.

Now which housemate did Simon have a very peculiar relationship in the house with? Eillen. He sought comfort from her and she acted like a surrogate mother being literally a breast to cry on. However this 'mother' figure of course is a false one. Simon knowing he has committed emotional maternal incest by using Eillen in this way he has to purge her from the house and does so by backstabbing her which leads to her eviction. The cycle is complete.

This would also explain why he attacks all the females in the house more then the men. Look at how he spoke to Chloe "i just don't like you", "i just don't like you", "i just don't like you", "i just don't like you". It became a mantra, a psychosexual chant; she is a dangerous siren. Even he did not understand where this was coming from and broke down in tears after as the guilt surfaced in him.

The result of an unresolved oedipus complex would be a man who is over-ambitious, vain and in constant need of approval and attention. This is Simon and unless he resolves his relationship with his mother then he is not going to change anytime soon.

Yeah - I just realised, I ve been on this forum for years and only this year have I noticed such a low par.

Everyone is so playground/immature. Its really disappointing. Some of us actually have 'physcholigical minds/insight' and thats why we watch this - as is shown by bit on the pysche on previous series which they ve sadly removed.

I cant understand why other people would watch it - if they aren't interested in physcholical and social interactions - do they just watch it like some boring soap opera!

Well Bates was a total nutcase obviously - the name of the film tells you so -
It says at the end of the film that he killed the women due to guilt of "betraying his overly controlling mother" but obviously its an EXTREME example - did you know there is are to sequels to that film, so bad they re funny.
