90% ambition, 9% knowing the right people, 1% talent. That's my best guess.

Awful woman, so cold and emotionless.

I recall on Dancing on Ice when she took part, Jason Gardiner described her as someone who 'if she was on fire there would still be no warmth coming from her'.

She doesn't let the interviewee speaks and keeps trying to make her own narrative out of the interview

I really don't like how when women manage to get decent jobs like Kay has, people always make comments on how they did sexual favours or something of the sort to get there. She obviously got lucky and Sky News employers liked her, that's how she got her job. Not by sucking D.

I think this interview was very nasty though and I don't think she is impartial enough to have the job she has, and she definitely does not show any kind of sympathy towards this man.

It's a really unhelpful nasty unnecessary attack, it was a system error and or operative error in other words an accident, there was no need for her interrogation like there was some malpractice :/

It was a joke Josh! I know it's not feministy etc. But rest assured I have utmost respect for all women.

Crazy bitches that they are.

I know its supposed to be a joke, but that kind of comment really gets on my nerves because a man would never be laughed about and have people say 'oh yeah he been eating so much pussy for that job'

She's one of the founding members of Sky News so that's the only reason why she still has a job.

The way she speaks during that interview though... if I spoke to someone like that in work I would be sacked, don't see why just because you're on TV means you can get away with that behaviour.

Just watched the video, I think the poor lass is sadly just a bit simple. I mean, yes, she's also being deliberately antagonistic but... he's being quite clear with what he's saying but she doesn't seem to understand. Fick.

She has a few haters,lol.
A petition calling for the sacking of Sky News journalist Kay Burley is approaching 50,000 signatures.

The petition follows around 1,100 complaints submitted to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom over Burley's confrontational interview with Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainment, the company that owns Alton Towers.

Burley grilled Varney on Sky News over the safety of the park's attractions, after four people were seriously injured on the Smiler rollercoaster last week.

She told him she was "sure [the families of the injured] are not interested in your sympathy at this stage" after he apologised for the accident.

The petition says Burley was "rude and patronising" to the CEO during the interview. Gareth Pugh, the person who started the petition, calls on Sky News to "act professional" and "issue an apology and sack Kay Burley."

For those concerned I was hard on Alton Towers boss, he'll get over it. Not sure those on his ride will be so quick to recover #perspective

She's so unprofessional and has no respect for those injured. She just wanted to interrogate him. Sack her.

Can't stand Kay Burley. Its wrong when news channels like sky and itv create their own news stories, something they both do quite frequently.

I remember her interviewing nigel farage, and she kept on repeating the same question, again and again, and she made herself look very stupid,

I do think people go a bit overboard about her.. truth is she has done remarkably well to be where she is today and defied a lot of odds. It's easy to see what she's trying to do - she wants to be a female Paxman basically and she's not the first interviewer to try and be this ultra-tough, imposing figure making their victim stutter over themselves and quake in their boots. Unfortunately she doesn't pull it of as well though.

It's not just her it's the sky interview style, Dermot Murnahan is the same.
