Last nights show in particular (which I've just caught up with) reminded me of last year a hell of a lot... Just constant unpleasentness for the sake of it. Helen with her arse parked in the garden with the smokers under her wing, being nasty for no apparent reason whatsoever (with Nikki also being guilty), getting quotes wrong and making up her own story (regarding the Harry/Simon situation) and reveling in the fact someone was feeling isolated (despite not even taking 5 minutes to attempt to get to know the person she apparently dislikes so much).
Then you had Marc with the whole "everybody wants to come in here and be nice, **** off home! This is Big Brother!" (because watching relationships develop and friendships grow between decent people has never been a vital part of BB, apparently). People being dicks/controversy for no real reason what so ever..
How/why the producers made the series from what it was in the first two weeks to what it is now is baffling.

Yep, that and the weekly "HUUUUGE NOMINATION TWISTS!!!!!!!!!!". It's like they take a promising series and think "Hmm, how can we turn this into a load of old crap?".

Most of that, I agree with, apart from the 'reveling in someone being isolated' thing, I don't get that bit, it didn't seem like that to me at all

Yes definitely. Especially in the first week, I thought this could be so much better than BB15. Now I'm not sure whether it's slightly better or worse.

I posted this in another thread and it feels relevant,
It's because production is ridiculous impatient and are obsessed with getting IMMEDIATE results. There were plenty of complex relationships building before the quad eviction, but production wasn't pleased because nobody was shouting at maximum volume that someone's a fat **** or a dirty slag. The quad eviction just killed everything that the show was building up, and this BB Legends stuff isn't helping either. The show is just being simplified to thoughtless and banal conflict and it's really sad.
It's not all production's fault though. The high ratings of the past CBB (for whatever reason, I thought it was complete ****) have left production thinking that having renegade clowns running around like Perez Hilton will help bring in the ratings, and the slight ratings increase after the quad eviction will just further validate the idea that the show was BORING and like GRANDMA'S TEA PARTY even though it wasn't at all.
I don't know, I'm just at the point where the show is getting more and more disheartening to watch and I might be ready to say goodbye for good. The show's MO has clearly turned into "let's insert as much blunt conflict as possible," and the show constantly seeks to achieve this through deplorable characters like Jim Davidson, Katie Hopkins, Perez Hilton, Helen, and Marc because they tell it like it fookin is, apparently. It's just getting to the point where the values that the show is trying to push are more and more misaligned with mine, and watching this just makes me feel kinda icky
Helen is just such a poisonous person that she sucks the potential enjoyment out of any scene she might find herself in.

They do it for the occasional 47 year old woman on twitter with 19 followers who tweets them every 5 minutes saying how much she loves twists and nastiness, yet completely ignore all forums and what the real fans of the show acctualy want. What it seems like to me

yeah started off great - the 4 evictions then it all went down hill - totally agree the producers cant relax and let it flow organically you dont need these twists why cant they get it. it gets MUCH lower ratings no press coverage...it used to!
