I can't remember when I last saw the housemates do this. It almost always led to the first argument

Apparently Jade and Brian are considered more show-worthy.

Oh yeah, I'd totally forgotten about that
Used to love it watching them try and squeeze everything on the list and obviously all the arguments/disagreements that came with it.

Oh yes
all crouched round and the one with the best handwriting did it
mind you i recall a time when the diary room was a thing...
:idc:
They need to bring it back, I want to see another instance of someone buying a ****load of banana's to piss people of, that was hilarious.

I was thinking the other night about how little we of them in the diary room. I think we've seen more diary room entries from Nikki than we have of half of the house collectively.

I wondered this myself. They've not done it for while now have they?

Do they still put things like Toilet Paper on the shopping list, or does BB just give it to them when they want?
I miss arguments about not having toilet paper, and how they were going to wipe their asses.
BB6 and BB8 had arguments about bog roll.
We know alcohol is provided at Big Brothers discretion, and it's not on the list anymore.

I used to love watching LF with them doing the shopping list, you could guarantee there would be a argument of some sort.

BB6 and BB8 had arguments about bog roll.
Liam's line to Charley when they had bog rolls with their faces on them
"Charley, can I have yours?"
I remember the eviction audience watching outside laughing at that

I am pretty sure they don't do a shopping list at all. BB simply chooses what to provide and provides cigarettes, TP and alcohol at their discretion. We've seen the housemates taking stock of supplies after failing shopping tasks so it must be the case that they find out what's coming in on arrival.

They use a tablet now when the have a budget but if it's basic rations the BB just provides it

I honestly can't remember. It used to be my favourite part of the live coverage on the second day. I'd wake up and there they would all be doing the shopping list and then the voices would get louder...

Oh, I guess functionally that makes sense but the chalk board was such a BB event, I'd love if they brought it back as well as some of the older restrictions

yeh i used to love the weekly arguments over the shopping list. and then seeing if anyone had the balls to change it when they went into the diary room. seems far too easy now

I liked it when they had to buy alcohol too, rather than being given loads of it every other day with a party...
It's kind of ironic a show full of producers who want to cause drama remove fundamentals like the shopping list and chalkboard which used to be the main cause of BB arguments.
It's quite depressing how fabricated this show has become with drama when it's the simplicity of a group of people living with each other 24/7 that will naturally cause drama when left untouched.

If they have a basic budget they are just provided with the food, but if they have a luxury budget like this week, they choose their shopping. Here is this week's list:

Remember when they used to send some of the housemates out to a supermarket at 3am to bring all the shopping back because they were too lazy to come up with a shopping task? No? Good.

Not interesting enough.
They want the show to be like a love island/towie type show now with lots of staged vignettes where they discuss who fancies who and who is trying to win.

I don't think they do a shopping list anymore tbh. I think a luxury budget just means more stuff

The shopping list and stuff like that used to be absolutely crucial to the dynamics and drama in the house.
Remember when the twins had to do it in the diary room and carole went mental. And then they made the chicken while she was doing a task. Absolutely classic stuff.
But we will never see that again.
I bet in a couple of years, all the housemates will be permanently groomed and made up all day like in towie.

best was when a HM blew the whole budget on their fave item...........
..........such as beer...................
worst was when HM's had to waste budget on something stooopid like
hair extensions preventing a delicate HM going into meltdown

The last time I remember it having any significance was when I think Jay spent the whole budget on weetabix or something.
Was it jay?
