This is a few days old, but someone brought it up in another thread so I was wondering what people thought.
During Jackiey and Shilpa's argument, Shilpa said "Its not a sentence. Its a frikking name" but during the show they edited it, adding a bleep where Shilpa said "frikking" to make it appear as if she said ****ing. It's not a big deal, but I just hate how the producers try to manipulate viewers. No, they never said she said ****ing, but they made US think that she did.
Has anyone noticed anything similar with the editing this year?
I noticed it. Shilpa uses the term "frikking" but not "*******g. She hardly swears. She used the term "oh *****" once and was apologetic about it
I thought they didn't censor the f word post-watershed. :conf:
yeah i noticed it .. she doesnt swear at all just that once x

They didn't even need to censor her because she didn't swear.
I didn't even realize it was post-watershed until you just mentioned it, so they really just wanted it to seem as if she said worse things then she did.

typical big brother making people out what theyre not
BB always edits housemates the way they want them to be seen. They obviously thought that the backlash against the Goodys was stronger than they anticipated, so in last night's highlights show, there was some strong editing in order to put them in a better light. Now, the editing seems to be working against Shilpa.

You think they are doing it to make Shilpa look bad? I was thinking they were just doing it for effect.

Theres alot of things I hate about the BBro editing. They focus on some really boring things and ignore entertaining things.
As far as the "fricking" thing goes, I can forgive them incase they wanted to avoid viewers thinking Shilpa had said ****ing. When she says it, it does sound very similar.

Jackiey Budden
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Jackiey Budden (b. April 1958 and also known as Jackiey Luckens and Jackiey Goody) is the mother of reality TV star Jade Goody.
She made the national press during her daughter's time in the Big Brother house due to being a lesbian. She lost the use of one arm due to a motorbike accident that she had when Jade was just 5 years old.
[edit] Media appearances
In a show about her daughter's rise to fame, former editor of the Daily Mirror Piers Morgan referred to Budden as "scary".
Budden appeared as a guest in the opening sketch of the first episode of the second series of comedy TV show Bo' Selecta
In April 2006, she appeared on a home makeover TV show with her daughter where they made over her council flat in Bermondsey.
On April 12, 2006, Jade appeared on the chat show Davina speaking about her autobiography. Here she mentioned that Jackiey lost two years of her memory after her aforementioned motorbike crash and that she was upset that she was unable to remember that her daughter went into foster care.
In Autumn 2006, she underwent a considerable cosmetic surgery; including breast enhancement, face lift, cheek implants, laser eye sugery and dental work. This was for the Living TV programme, Extreme Makeover.[1] The surgery cost the show £30,000. Budden was forbidden from seeing her friends and family for three months from the time she had the surgery to when the show was aired.
On January 5, 2007 avowed racist Jackiey became a surprise participant in the fifth UK series of Celebrity Big Brother along with Jade and Jade's boyfriend Jack Tweed.

The Live Internet feed
had Jackiey saying
'You ain't in India now'
But Endemol took it out of the Edited Ch4 show
because it made the cockney mum seem like a BNP person.
where is the live feed from?

Well, they can't show everything. I was referring more to the producers making it seem like someone has said/done something when in actuality they haven't. But yes, it is very annoying when they leave out some interesting things.

The word 'frikking' is always bleeped out at that sort of time, and in programmes.
it was blocked out in the Friends episode The One with the Cake aswell.
Its not at all editing Shilpa.

What I don't understand is why they have aired Shilpa saying frikking at other times and not bleeped it out, but then in this situation they bleeped it out. I actually don't think they are trying to portray Shilpa poorly, but I can't help but feel that they wanted the viewers to think she said ****ing, to make the argument sound more intense and just simply for effect. Frikking is not even a swear word, so they should have no reason to bleep it in the first place.

Some people find frikking really offensive.. personally I don't and don't think it should be bleeped out, but a lot of people do count it as swearing, so I guess maybe the first time frikking got aired, they got some complaints.

It is because That word through her mouth can sound
like something else.
And also what time of day - matters.

I have heard Shilpa use the term "frikking2 plenty of times on CBB why didn't they think to edited it out at those times then. By doing this, it now makes it seem as though she has foul language

Like I said before, they may have recieved complaints from those earlier times.

That's possible. Let's wait and see if they air her saying "frikkin" in the next few days.

Also, sometimes you can easily tell shes saying FRICKING, but other times it sounds dangerously close to the other.
Hang on, Shilpa uses a word thats not even a proper swear word, yet the other housemstes use actual swear words and that doesn't get edited. What is the world coming to?
