I don't think she's that bad a person deep down, I just think she's obviously not intelligent enough to be able to argue without making personal comments so that's why she resorts to attacking people and it comes across (quite rightly) really badly. She doesn't know any better, so that's all she does. It's not so much a defence of her because she is a bit of a **** but I think most of the time she means well, she just has anger issues and takes them out in a way that only she knows how.

The thing with Helen is she has had to deal with a huge amount of **** throughout her life. Maybe a lot of it was through her own doing but either way it's resulted in a very angry woman. She strikes me as quite a sad person.

I think a lot of Helen's nasty and angry streak stems from the fact that she's had a rough life. Apparently she had a bad childhood, and she lost her virginity at the age of 14, and became pregnant at 16, and her parents kicked her out of the house.

The reason she went into prostitution was because she had a five year old child, and couldn't afford to look after him, and couldn't get a job. So she went down the prostitution route in order to make money to provide for her son.

I don't think she's a bad person. Yes, she's nasty and hateful. But I wouldn't call her vile. She hasn't killed anybody.
